Looking good... I have been priming windows frames to paint, cleaning out junk and generally doing stuff I do not want to do.

Have I mentioned that I HATE moving...

Everyone's busy!

Not working on this one at the moment, it was a used kit (partially started) that I picked up for what I thought was a good price. Classic Airframes Sm.79. The seller couldn't guarantee that all the pieces were there but after I received it and did a quick inventory check it was only missing a few of the small resin pieces, nothing that I shouldn't be able to make, and one of the main wheels for the landing gear but I was able to find a set of True Details wheels.

I stripped the interior paint job, cleaned up and glued the wings back together, fixed a broken nacelle and repaired some of the broken resin pieces in the cockpit that had snapped off. I'll put it away now until later.

I have always liked the SM79. The Trumpy kit is OK but has some glaring errors ( as many Trumpy kits have) I am now waiting on HPH to release their 1/32 kit but it will probably be a while.

They do have a lot of interesting paint schemes, very intricate!

I still haven't stripped the paint from the resin pieces, a few of the interior parts were painted a green and the engines have paint. Anyone ever use oven cleaner on resin????

Paul, that HPH kit will be excellent! I do have another CA SM.79 in the stash, the torpedo version. Looking forward to building them both one of these days!

I'm all about the Japanese engines apparently, I bought the 1/72 Tammy Zero while waiting on the ox cart carrying my Wingsy Type 96 from the Ukraine.

SO, as you all know how the modeling gods work, as soon as the Zero showed up, guess what followed a day or two later. And then my wife asked what do I want for Father's Day and Now theres the 1/32 Tammy A6M2b sitting about a foot away from me.

Onto the bench pics. I added some plug wires with wire on the 1/72 and used .010" styrene rod on the 1/48 Type 96. Theres a lot of nice detail on this kit, I had the best finish I ever did on the cylinders, but it's gone behind everything now. As an experiment, I sprayed Vallejo's Metallics straight on the styrene, no primer and it had a nice finish and stayed firm even after washes.

The PE on the Wingsy kit is some sort of motor mount. When I was looking over the kit online before I bought it, I assumed it was the plug wires.
