All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

This will be interesting!

Bob

Thanks Bob & Jeff... Thing is, I've never attempted such an ambitious mask job on a car before so whilst it's great to stretch my skills, its entirely possible that I've scr*w*d-up a very nice wee kit !!!

Tamiya aerosols 'Racing Blue' and 'Bright Orange' - lots more to do to this, just thought y'all would get a kick out of seeing the 'reveal'.

Ian.

Well Ian, it looks like you didn't screw it up after all. Those are some sensational scallops man! Way to go!

Sherman that looks fantastic! I need to do one of those for my 1/72 scale aircraft.

Back at the FT-17 again after a bout of fit issues (most probably self-inflicted)...

Quick question- would the paint have burned off the muffler? Hard to tell when my only color reference photos are museum exhibits but I am guessing yes??

Wouldn't necessarily have burned off, but would have discolored greatly. Probably would be some dark rust on scratched places. Definitely would not be a light yellow color.

Thinking back to when I drove the old air cooled VW's. The mufflers were a primer grey and held up fairly well. Over time the paint would deteriorate and rust would come through. Then they were subjected to salt, heat, water, road grime and other things.

Thank you Luiz!

Paul- makes perfect sense. The one small complaint I have about the Meng painting instructions is they only show one side in profile...would be nice to have at least a 3 way view...but I found some books and ordered them about WWI armor...hoping they'll help.

Beautiful work guys.

I'm trying to clear some space so I have a Tamiya JS-2 on the bench with hopes of selling it off to the RC battlers.

I did a fair amount of texturing since Tamiya left off most of the welds, cutting and casting marks.

See, I did armor at one point... :idonno

Fantastic job on the casting texture. I remember the first time I saw a real T-34/76. The casting was so amateurish, it was laughable. It was so poorly cast that if you built a model like that, nobody would believe it!

Your JS-2 is perfect!
