The Pegasus bridge thread got me thinking about this.
At first there was so much talk about it, but it's been a long time now, has it worked out?
I bought into it, went a bit nuts with AM and stuff on Tamiya's kits, using Armorscale barrels, Voyager PE and a lot of scratch building on a Tiger I and same plus resin hull, etc for the M4, but I never put them together with an AC in a diorama.
At the end of the day, I think it was the figures that put me off. Even as a sculptor, I can get a good face in 1/48, but it's just too small for real expression or detail in uniform and weaponry.
1/35 AC would be my prefered direction in terms of combining genres, but incorporating both on a base is a large project.
