1:350 Graf Spee

Looking really sweet!! I've got to get back on the TITANIC soon. Is it too early to ask for an extension :gogo ?

Just a little but I may need it also.

Did some cool PE work the last couple of days. Reminds me how much I enjoy doing PE. Don't know who made the PE for Academy but they did a swell job. The scores are clean and crisp and when you fold it, it folds where it should.

No, no pictures but will post some later. :mpup

I'm not really liking ship building. Maybe cause I don't know what the hell I'm doing. Got to think too far ahead.

wondering what colors to paint the boats, think I'll just ad lib from here.

Thoughts, suggestions?

I would suggest you need to relax and enjoy it, the build is looking really good so far. (y)

Looking really good Bob. I got the Life colour set from Sprue Brothers for the Kreigsmarine. Its got all you need. I hear you about boats though. It seems you almost have to map out your build before hand and then start. Nothing but respect for ship builder now.
Keep it up Bob, its coming along nicely.

you are really doing a great job, especially for a project your heart is not fully invested in

Thanks guys, wouldn't say I'm not into it, should have done something smaller, simpler to get the hang of it.

These may help you for the boat colours

Yep, it's still on the WIP shelf. One thing I would do, forgo the wood deck. I really think it takes away from the scale. Want wood deck, paint it, there's too many paint techniques out there that would look better than this wood veneer..IMHO.

I've been thinking the same thing with the wood deck on my Titanic. At such a small scale you really wouldn't even be able to see the individual planks. But it came with the deck and I already carved up the plastic to get ready for it so oh well.
