1/32 Revell Dora

Gonna be a bit quiet for a few days while I move model rooms.
We've turned our 3rd bedroom into my model space so the bench move is underway!

Stash is moved into a lit closet.
I need to build my spray booth too.

Good luck. At least it doesn't have to go on the road .

Modeling has been so much better since I have had a dedicated room . The fact is, I could easily use 50 % more space :pilot :pilot

Cheers, Christian B)

I've been lucky to have a great 6x10 room for the last 2 years.
My new room is easily 10x15, with 4 windows, 2 closets and its no longer attached to my music studio.
Plus I got my built models out of the studio so I dont have to worry about them getting knocked of shelves by guitar and bass players, or vibrating off the shelves (a constant worry with my bass player).

I'll post pics when Im done.

Well....the move is done.
However...Im now doing repair work.
:vmad
After my loving wife carried each build upstairs one by one with utmost care.
The wall grate for the HVAC decided to mount its own attack!
My A4 (yeah the one I JUST finished) was able to drop tanks (and pylons) and run, with minor damage to the vertical stab and some antennae.
However my Revell Messashnitzle took a 2 direct hits.
The port elevator and stab was blown clear off and the prop spinner were blown into the clouds.

Repairs under way

Im not dead yet....

I've got the pit glued into the fuse.
Prop painted, weathered and decaled
Pilot armor painted and decaled as well
However, looking at the canopy and fairing I have some serious work to do.

:zen :zen :zen

Always nervous when i move around my models, but i'm getting better at packing them now :)

Your build is looking very good and the pilot is great :good:

Now that Im done prepping for my first IPMS contest, I can get back to this build and thread.

I have the fuse joined and all the seam work done.
I built a Revi sight and added the canopy ratchet handle.
I also scratch built a more accurate turtle deck area under the canopy as revells was just a farce.

Working now on the wing cannons and gun camera.

I swear I'll post pics soon.

:popcorn :D
I'm going to have to get one of these soon. I think I'll do Barkhorns a/c with the new decals coming out and then his 109 and 262.

Wasn't Barkhorns bird an earlier Radial engine example? A or F model?

The revell kit is definitely old hat, however I like the challenge of preserving the raised detail and scratch building.

Cool!
These kits can be had cheap cheap for sure, however be aware if you want the gear down I recommend you not look into the wells.

Picture update:
Didn't like the Kit tail wheel, made my own:
