Looking forward to more .

TADAAAAAA !!!! Big, big news.. The booms are attached ! WOW, what an ordeal, but I bit the bullet and she's ALIVE. Granted, I still need to and some small bits of card and a little putty, but this is a tremendous step for me and one I've dreaded for too long. So here she is. Please , let me know what you think..........Harv

Dang Harv, I missed your last update. You go you big ol' Knuckle Dragger!!!

Booms look great, I know it's a big relieve to get her up on her legs. :mpup

Looking good Harv. What a clever idea for protecting the cockpit. I'll have to remember it. (y) (y) (y) (y)

Well, started on the top hinge and gun doors. Man, what a PTA ! Over engineered, and soooo hard to assemble

And this is what you end up with

100_3726.jpg

Nothing is aligned very well, on side to the other is off by a couple MM. I think I may end up cutting the black straps and free fitting the doors. There is a "ledge" all around. Now the nose is another problem. There is no pin or anything to align the bottom and the center hinge on top has a small grove that mates with the top of nose. Not sure how I will get it straight. I'll figure it out, I hope! Thanks for looking in........Harv

You made good work out of that Harv. But in the end, you want workable access panels or a good looking model? Most of the times you really can't have both.:popcorn

True Bob. The engine is enough open panels. The guns will be closed and smoothed out To leave these open is not worth the work. Besides, I have to hide all the nose weight some where, right ? Thanks for dropping in, my friend......Harv

Hey Harv ! Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel yet ? (y)

The more I see you go through on this airplane the more I am convinced this Duck is a highly crafted and polished piece of plastic

Keep on Harv ! Cheers, Christian B)

So, I cut the hinges and glued the top center piece in. Taped the nose on and ,oh what horrors, the gaps, the gaps! I had no idea when test fitting, they would be like this. Well, must press on..............Harv

Holey Crap! tell ya what, I know what kit i'm not going to get. Git'er done Harv, looks like it's light at the end of the tunnel, can't be much more to do.

Geeze Harv. I cant believe you haven't sent this thing flying. Man you got patience. Looking forward to seeing how you over come this obstacle.
James

If I go the opposite way, this is what I have. I think this would be easier. Have to cut the front of the top center back some and shave about 4 mm of the back of the doors. This will tilt the nose back and even with the doors front edge. Please let me know what you think.....Harv

Looking at this more, I think this is the best option. But I will have to back track a bit and finish some small details in the pit to install the wind screen. This will allow me to get a good fit of the rear of the doors. I have been holding off on the wind screen as long as possible because of all the detail I added to it. Hope everything stays in place.........Harv
