Trumpy 32 scale F-100D

I have a question now. Where could I find an engine buck or stand for this kit? if I am going to display it I need one as the only ground stuff this has are a crew ladder and the fuselage stand for the aft part of the fuse.

Are you planning on displaying the engine separate from the aircraft? Are you willing to make all that internal framework as well as the air intake trunk? I know the kit provides a fuselage stand to allow the engine to be seen still mounted in the fuselage but removing it requires either a complete internal structure which is seen or, if you planned to have the front an rear fuselage together, replacing the compressor fan and bullet fairing as well as everything viewed from the rear.

If you are that ambitious, I think I may have what you would need.

Regards,
Are you saying that the fuselage wont have integrity without the engine installed?

As you can see here:

The engine can be swapped in the field.

My point is, once the engine is out of the fuselage and by itself on a stand,

there will be a cavity where the engine was that needs to be detailed.

Something similar, since this is not an F-100, to this:

Regards,

If you do that then Zactomans conversion has intake covers. Solves the front. Use the kit exhaust and cover with lead foil or tissue and that will solve the back. You would definately want the inlet cone fix and an AB. Then its just wiring and plumbing up the engine. Will be cool to see.

OK, so you wanted a separate engine on a stand (not necessarily pulled from the model subject).

James has the best thing to do then, use covers and the kit exhaust.

More important than anything, have fun with the build. IF, and this is optional, you want to detail it, help is offered.

I personally don't remove the rear fuselage to show an engine as it spoils the aerodynamic lines of the aircraft.

Regards,

Thats what I originally wanted to do Saul, I would keep the plane in one piece and separate the the engine to sit on its own stand.I will tweak the fins on the turbine so it will spin if I can.there I can get the intake detail and not worry about anything else. Maybe the ordnance.

OK Paul, just a heads up for a build without an engine.

It is correct to have weapons on board while doing maintenance, but if you have covers on both ends , that will be fine as it will look like an airplane on the flight line/revetment . :pilot

Well Christian, I was speaking of finding ordnance but I think I have a guy in the club that has a slew of ordnance. I need to get the correct Rocket launcher or maybe napalm. I was taken aback as they didnt have a multiple rack system just two bombs or a bunch of rockets, etc. BUT...I have been known to be wwwwwrong

well the pit is almost complete. not too sharp but my eyes are now 54 years old and even using the optivisor doesn't help all the time. unsteady hands and three grand daughters are the best one can hope for.

:blink :hmmm :blink

:yipee well I finished the wing assembly, the aft section and filled in some holes on the fwd half.
I know it doesnt look like much but there is quite a bit to go before I think about adding any paint or such.

Thanks to everybody for the kind words. I have continued on and now and more than half way with the building aspect of model building. Wings look good and so do the slats, I know that there are hundreds of things that are WRONG with this kit but I am not going the extra cash and I just am enjoying this kit, even though it is higher than a cats back, and hoping that I will do Nam vets proud when I finish with this one.
I have the wings as said before, done as well as some of the landing gear parts done.thanks for watching...
