Winter Wunderland

I am working on what will be a Russian P-40 in temporary winter cammo. I'm thinking that I should paint it in the regular green and then just apply a "white" dusting, building up the layers until I get something I like.

Any thoughts on the best way to do this??

Vallejo makes a pretty good "snow" in their textures line of products. I have had some success adding baby powder to white paint to make a paste. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing it 🙂

I expect WWII Sov ground crews probably slopped the water-based winter whitewash on with a bucket and a mop.
One would think it wore off areas of wear and airflow pretty easily.
Flat brush and repeated passes with thinned out water based white?
Do you want your Russian P-40 accurate or pretty? :bm:

@Barney, do you have a photo of the aircraft? I don't see many in whitewash during winter and the ones that are seem to be painted well:
