Ivan and the Tiger

Both tail are on. The P-40' had some sink marks that needed filling but the fitted real well. I think I'm done with most of the sanding on both. I used a silver sharpie to check seems and to pre color panels for future chipping. Gary S.

The brown on the P-40 and the it. Gary on the Yak was painted this AM. The lt. gray maybe too light. Don't think the Russians were too picky about their colors, so I might go with it. The P-40 had an antenna mount on the upper leading edge. I found a photo etch piece that works after a "trench" was dug out for it. Gary S.

Decals are done for both models. The kit wing decals for the P-40 were too light of a blue so they were removed. I had a darker set of blue one left over from a previous P-40 build about ten years ago. There is no placement instructions for the stencil decals. I had to use a a 1/32nd scale P-40 that I built for my wife just before we were married 47 years ago. The white fuselage stripe on the Yak had to be places as far aft in order to go around all the way. The small stencil decals kept dealing which was a PIA. Gary S.
