So I had been planning on going to the IPMS Oregon model show that takes place at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. It used to be if you were entering a model then you just paid the 5 dollar entry fee to the contest but now you have to pay the insane 20 dollar museum entry fee as well. For my wife and I to make the 600 mile roundtrip and then get lodging, food, gas, and vendor table items would end up being probably 500 bucks. Am I just out of line in thinking that paying 25 bucks to enter a contest comes off as elitist and a bit over the top? I realize the national convention is 50 bucks but hey that is the nationals. What would you do? Would you go or say nope and not hand out your money?
