Weathering to make realistic looking leather

Hi everyone. I'm new to this level of model building, and I came back to building because of the Millennium Falcon kit that Heaven's Eagle is making.
I've done some searches here, and didn't see a tutorial that went into how to make a plastic chair look like it's realistic leather. The Falcon kit has the four seats in the cockpit as well as the bench in the lounge area.
Are there any common methods of types or techniques for washes that can take a flat brown and make it look like a nicely used leather?

I think if you search the forum you'll get many more hits for Leather.

Now, everyone has different techniques for this but I use oils, starting with a dark brunt Umber and work up.

I searched also I didn't find anyone's SBS but maybe someone will be along shortly to help.

I like to use acrylics then oil paints. I prime then paint with Vallejo saddle leather, or a suitable black or another leathery colour. Then I "drybrush" an oil paint over. For that I use burnt umber or burnt sienna or black depending on the finish. Yellow ochre will also help make it look weathered. Will try and find a good pic to show.
Also Scale 75, Life Color, and a few others make Leather and wood sets which might give you everything you need in one spot.
