Waterproof clear coats?

ausf

Master at Arms
Trying to equip myself for the RC U-boats.

My go to clear would of course be Future, but I'm not sure how it would hold up to being immersed in water. Has anyone every tried it on a boat or something that actually got wet?

Otherwise, I'm thinking of the Tamiya TS line of rattle cans for the clear. I assume a laquer would be waterproof when dry? Anyone ever use them in water?

I don't want to shoot enamel or laquer through the AB, so I'd either go with Vallejo or Tamiya acrylics for the paint, but I'm guessing a rattle can of auto primer and rattle can of clear, especially considering it's a 4 foot model.

Any thoughts or experiences at all would be greatly appreciated.

You might try this, I use a spray polyurethane on my bases with great results.

Best wishes!
