Texas Midland Gas/Electric Motor Car-LaBelle 1/87

Well Ed .... I Have seen yours ...... I was nice to you so whether I choose to use a whole tube of putty on my models or not shouldn't be any concern to you ..... that Mig-Killer died with the Air Masters crap .... So why don't you just drop it also .......   :bat :bat :bat
:tomato :tomato Simmer down Gerry. I wuz jus' referrin' to the gap that thing had... I know how much mine took up :drunk

I just don't understand this stuff anymore the mk was my first resin pit .... so I didn't cut the pit right I had asked for help and all I got was a cat shooting a machine gun...... I have been through a lot on life and have tried to improve my modeling ..... my skills are improving .... I've gotten better in the 5 years that have passed since then ...... that was a model that had to be re-scribed plus a ledgends pit ....... I just wasn't :notworthy ...... so maybe I failed but eenthough she may reside on the shelf of shame ....... I still have hopes of being able to finish it one day .... I can fix it ..... one day I will

Yeah, I can relate since it was my first go around with both the Legend Pit, Rescribing & not to mention, hacking up a perfectly good kit. YOu have come a long way since then & it shows in your work you're doing on this! (y) And if ya still feel yer not good enuff ta tackle the rest of that mk... ya kin send it this a wway... :eek:hyeah :good:

The Opti-visors that are made by Donegan optical are made with ground glass lens ..... they are a bit pricey but they give you a binocular type view ..... where as they give you a focal point like your real eyes do .... just like binoculars do ..... getting used to walking around the house with them on your head is the trouble ...... :rotf

Ok continuing on with My build ..... I've done a bit more on the filling & cleaning ...... Most of the modelers here know this is necessary for the finished model to look good ..... :eek:ldguy

Rear of Motor Coach ..... I cemented the chair rail on .... next will be the siding & I'll try to get the back put on next ..... then I can start shaping the roof as it is a generic roof ..... :eek:ldguy

I"ve tried but can't use those optvisors, maybe the ones I have just don't have good optics.

I can't work without mine! The thing is there are a couple of different brands and with the brand I use there are 8 or 10 different levels of magnification. My lens set number I believe is 4. I also don't wear glasses when working on stuff, only the Optivisor.

I was about to ask you about sanding. What do you use?

Well just about 3 o'clock here in Texas .... my spell checkers are fighting each other seems like .....

I use different sanding sticks ..... the one I like the best is this one .....

But now for rough sanding I just get one of those foam sandwiched emery boards from Wal-greens, Walley-World or Sally's ...... I also have a Detail Master Automobile finisher which has micro fine sanding cloths in it .... Testors also make a fine sanding kit that is great ..... :eek:ldguy

All of this reminds me why I gave up HO for large scale :gogo

Thanks Old Dog ..... I also enjoy Gauge one ...I'm on my way with On30 ..... I'm building a Dunkirk Loco for my Home Pike ..... as a Matter of fact I've thought about getting a Milling Machine ..... and making live steam parts for garden to start with ..... and maybe moving fro there to 1 1/2 inch and 2 1/2 size trains ...... Lots of money required ..... :eek:ldguy
