Thanks all- just donated $20-- this is my first entry- maybe the only one Although I would love to do something in 1/72 since this CTA is helping Mark out- but I don't have anything in the stash that size...so I have decided on this kit:

Seems too easy, doesn't it? No worries-- I have added a twist This is a leftover sprue from a special edition Accurate Miniatures SBD-3 kit....

And I am looking to do something in the same idea as what I have found online--

It will be something similar but different obviously Looking forward to this one!

Well- been a good weekend for building . Got a good start on the truck....Still deciding on whether to do an OD Army truck or gray USN truck...

And the extra sprues from the special Accurate Miniatures don't have as many pieces as I thought so I'll have to imagineer some stuff...But the shape is right...

Paint on the truck is done and decals are started...loads of weathering to do still....

And the cargo...getting sufficiently beat up...have to wait a bit more on removing the salt...started too soon and knew I had to stop before it got ruined

More work on the wrecked SBD...

Trying to figure out what to do about the wing roots...They are supposed to be a bit wider out but the spares I have left don't include any of those parts...And while I could scratch the rest out, it then wouldn't fit in the rear of the truck. I could turn it around and have the front hanging down on the gear but that's a bit more scratching than my skillet can do methinks. Too bad AM is out of business as ordering some sprue parts would work....

Issue solved! Turns out there are wing sprues up for sale on eBay...For $3....Should be here on the 18th...Which gives me 10 days to dissect them and add them to the wreck with the gear before the end of the build. Good thing I have winter break to work on it

Done! Might put this on a base at some point but for now, I'm a done...

Not many pics of the engine off but I did find one I could recreate from...The PSP and other gear doesn't show up well here...
