Swordsman at Eagle Quest XXIV ... 2015

Just wanna add my 2 cents. The big eagle has drawn modelers from all over the world over the last 24 years. I know because I handed them out for 16 of those years. It was and is a very prestigious award, and the recipients that preceded Terry were some really great and well known modelers! I had told Terry on MA before the show that in my opinion, it was by far the greatest thing he had ever done, and I wasn't just blowing smoke. When I saw it at the show, I was even more impressed. It looked better in person than in photographs which is usually the case with the really great ones!

I saw all the competition and it was intimidating, but, I thought Terry deserved what he has wanted for many years. Congratulations Terry, you absolutely, positively deserved that. It was superior to anything in that room! You have grown leaps and bounds since I first met you all those years ago in the VLS conference room! I'm proud of ya Buddy! You and Mary have a couple of really great kids as well!

I'll second that one! Congratulations to Grace and to Jeff for having a great kid! I didn't get as much time to talk to Jeff and family as I wanted. Since I was a guest of MMD, I kinda had to do their bidding, and they managed to keep me busy, well, as busy as a 74 year old can be! :yipee

It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget! Susan and I are on the road and will be for another week with an IPAD. I can't send photos on this or if I can, I don't know how, so, when I get home, I have a lot of photos and will post then.

I'm glad you like them Dave ... Like I say I'm sure there are lots of different shots & angles ... Mr. T's already posted some I didn't' get there were a few nice ones there and I still ha 've a few more. But this phone makes it hard to do ... On the weekends I sure miss my internet & laptop ...

Thanks for the kind words guys! Grace did a great job, so proud of her! She is shooting for the big trophy now :facepalm

We had so much fun there and what a great time. The people at Squadron go out of their way to make it the best experience. I really want to give a shout out for them as they had to put in extra time and had to deal with all the modelers rampaging in the warehouse. If was in stock then I bet it is not now

Great seeing Terry and his family again. Also meeting Gerry for the first time! Awesome meeting Bob for the first time. I saw he had people around him all the time and thought it was nice he took a minute to have a picture or two taken with us.

I can't speak enough on what a great time my family had along with myself. Not sure if I should say this, but my wife now has a model of her own to build as she wants to enter next year. I think she is planning on us trying to go next year :woohoo:

I also heard that Jeff and Grace are not allowed in the Squadron warehouse with out adult supervision .........

Sounds like you all had a great time. I only wish I could have the same time with you all at the IPMS Nationals as well. Oh well. I'll be watching for Grace's big Eagle win. Congrats to all who placed, especially Grace, and may you all have a great time next year.
