My entry for CTA

The starting pics, I could not use more light because of the pc screen reflecting.
Hence a magnified part with the starting date.

To be honest: I ever already glued a few parts together.

ford_ac.jpg

So: I HEREBY DISQUALIFY MYSELF FOR THE COMPETITION OR ANY PRIZES !!
If someone thinks it still does not belong in here, so be it, no problem.
I will still donate and do the build.

Now the kit:
Revell 1/16 Ford 1912.
I bought the kit a few years ago, it looked nice on the box.
But to my standards the quality is dissapointing.
I have the idea that it ever was 1/24, then simply double-sized, inclusing all seems, sinkholes etc,
on very onconvenient places. That's why it was on the shelf all the time.

But I'm not just gonna build it out of the box, I will do a lot of extra's, scratching and pimping.
With some luck, it will turn out completely different.

Now, how to donate ?

Greets to all, willem

Something on wheels

Doesn't look started to me. Those appear to be just "test fitted". ;)

Looking forward to seeing this big scale take shape. B)

Thank you for your honesty, Willem. I would say that's not enough pre-assembly to disqualify you. Rock on and best wishes! (y)

It doesn't look like enough to worry about Willem. There are three pieces?? Carry on. As for the donation, just got to the home page and you will see the paypal button. Click and in the comments state what the model is and for CTA3.
Enjoy.

This is going to be a Classic-Steampunk-what if-apocalypse-military-fantasy vehicle.

Don't be fooled by it's archaic appearance ! It is accomodated with advanced high-tech devices.

Here the steamboiler primed, ready for paint. Some gauges will be added later.

The steamboiler is a high energy Maybach, same as used in the Imperial Brandenburger Army.
Although it can burn about anything, it is specially designed for petblocks.
These are charcoal briquettes with a micro-structure, soaked in petrol gel.
They can burn for many hours. Every two days replenish will do.
The fire intensity and pressure are controlled by an automatic mechanical circuit, which operates
an oxygen inlet and a safety valve accordingly.

The steam circuit is completely closed.
Past the engine the steam goes through a condenser, and then pumped back to the boiler as hot water.
In case of overpressure the steam goes directly to this condenser, thus avoiding any losses.
This way it is possible to drive for weeks without any water supply.

For a more rugged terrain behavior, shock absorbers are added.
Here they are, waiting for assembly.

Thanks for watching, more to come !
