Sicily 1943 (spring)

Hi guys...:Hiay

New pics of the dio!

1st. le.gl.Einheits-Pkw (Kfz.1) by ICM.

This vehicle will substitute the Kubelwagen. Shortly I will begin the process of painting and weathering of this one and of the rest of vehicles. But first I want to assemble two more motorcycles.

2nd.Roofs of the buildings.

Here I put you a few photos of the chapter "roofs" of the houses of the left side of the diorama.
The bases of the structures can be extracted, which will help me them be able to paint and to weather them in conditions before being fixed definitively...

Finished the third roof corresponding to the bookshop. Breaking a bit the style of the roofs. In this case only I have planned it with fall towards the street.
The result and the sensation together with other two roofs is this one...

Lovely work Yago
It has been some time since viewing this beauty. The roof structure looks the part, although the battens (the horizontal timbers for the tiles) are a little too thick? These would only be about 3" maximum diameter methinks; but I'm only assuming uniform sizing world wide!
Brad

Brad & James, thank you so much for looking and posting here...
The real structure of the roofs in Europe can change depending on the country, on the year and on other factors.
My roofs will remain covered by the tiles (Arabic tiles) and almost one will not see anything of the wood later.
I was interested to do a simple and strong structure at the same time.
If it had wanted to do a structure nearer to the reality in order that it could see later, it had used another type of strips with another thickness.
Brad, if I return to do another roof, I will bear your advices in mind. Always they will be welcome.

Thanks for all and thanks for looking and posting again. (y)

See you!:Hiay

Maravilloso como siempre... ¿Que tal la maqueta de ICM?
Maravelous as always... How is the ICM kit?

Saludos/Greetings,

Thank you so much Shark.
The play of ICM is good. Perhaps have some steps of complex interpretation.
But the final result is worthwhile.
I recommend the kit and the brand.
ICM has references of models that other brands do not have.

--------------

El kit de ICM es bueno. Quizá tenga algunos pasos de interpretación compleja.
Pero el resultado final merece la pena.
Recomiendo el kit y la marca.
ICM tiene referencias de modelos que otras marcas no tienen.

See you soon with more steps. :Hiay

YAGO,

:notworthy :notworthy This Rox !! Beautiful Work !! Yeah Baby !!

How did you like that ICM kit ? I build it a few months ago. I had some fit problems around the rear Wheel wells where it contacts th body ( on top of th fenders, passenger side). & My axles were too short, so I replaced them with some Styrene rod.

ERIK

Andyfettes, the kit by ICM is good (with attention points). I recommend it.

Erik, I had some fit problems too. But is possible to finish it with styrene and patient... hahahaha!

The next chapter: painting...

Thanks for looking and posting here guys.

See you!

Yago.

Thank you so much Rundy...

During the past weekend I was rearming what the wooden frame of the layout.

The first had a little defect in shape and/or height, and taking the opportunity to rearm again, I've done some watermark on one side, as is the back of wooden buildings at the side, leaving the space to appreciate the indoors.

Conglomerate by 5mm redid the four pieces, and then top-pores with paste wood left him ready for sanding then machine. The top-pores had a margin of four hours to dry, but I chose to leave 24 hours and make sure good. All surfaces were completely smooth and ready to be painted now. Right now the feeling of being a single piece of wood with the shape to fit inside the diorama.

Here you have the pictures...
