Okay, so my goal is to finish one model a month, fingers crossed. This month's candidate is Revell's 1956 Nomad. My wife Renee loves this car, so I am build it as her dream car. Two tone paint, dark candy red and dark metallic gray with a two tone gray interior. Today I got the engine built and painted along with most of the frame sub assembly.

The engine...

The aluminum exhaust. The shine on this is unbelievable. The finish is straight from a rattle can. As good as anything you can get from Alclad.

WAY back in the early 70s my Bro in Law had one. Ran into the back of a brand new Toyota, totaled the Toyota..couple of scratches on the bumper of the Nomad. :rotf

Great start Kenny, love me some druals....:popcorn

:captain ... Looking very good Kenny ... Your wife has excellent color choices .... That motor is very nice ... Good luck on your Quest ... (y)

Well, I got some work done on the Nomad this weekend.

Finished the frame and attached the engine and tranny.

And I started laying the color for the interior. I want this with come modern safety features so I scratch build some three point seat belt setups.

Love them Nomads! Great cars!! Friend got one a '57 for his 16th birthday. (was his dad's 1st car) we tore it completely apart & fully restored it that summer!

Great subject, there's a couple live around town here, one a '56, is overall pale blue with very little chrome trim, could be the 'equivelent' of a 'Del Ray'/entry level Nomad, the other (a '57) is running a very loud small-block, two-tone cream/metallic orange paint and the skinniest low profile tyres you've ever seen !!

Keep the pics coming.

Ian.

You mean one of those with the BIG wheels and rubber band tires Ian?

Nice looking build so far Kenny! The Ace rattle can paint caught me by surprise. Really looked good!

It did for me too Paul. I have a friend that ditched the Alclad aluminum for the Ace chrome aluminum.

Well, I had to strip the paint off the body. I got the metallic dark gray on and masked. When I trimmed the masking and pulled it off, it took the paint off too. I'm guessing I'm pressing too hard. I tried to keep a light touch.
