Quad & Bedford QL portee. Quad is done.

Re: Bedford QL & 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

... if you're not having fun with it...trash it.

Mats, trash it! Make it into a destroyed vehicle so the doors are open (or off) and the engine can be seen (tilt or remove the cab). Put it aside for another day.

Enjoy shopping!

Regards,

Re: Bedford QL & 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Life is TOO short to wrestle with crappy kits! I thought what you had done looked really good, so maybe one of the days you can add Saul's suggestion to it? Or just smash it with the five pound hammer!

Re: Bedford QL & 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Yes Saul i was thinking about that we will see what lies ahead for that truck :hmmm
And now the fun part! this is what i picked up today :D

I will use the 6 pounder gun from the QL and it will be towed by the Quad :D

I know that these are old kits to but with tamiya i know it's gonna go better, and the LRDG is already a build log here so i can get some tips (y)

Can i continue posting in this thread or should i make a new one?

Re: Bedford QL & 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Here is the progress, so nice when everything fits and there is small pins that guide you to where the part is supposed to be, still alot of ejector-pinmarks, but that i can live with B)

That is a cool little kit, Mats! I've looked at it several times, but never gone ahead and bought it. Maybe one of these days!! (y)

Re: Bedford QL & 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

I got it years ago back when I didn't know what an airbrush was. Had a lot of fun with it. Can't wait to see your skills applied to it Mats. :popcorn

Re: LRDG chevrolet and Quad with 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Someone thinks i should have bought a bigger kit.....

Here is some work on the chairs, they looked to "plastic" so i softened them up with thin glue and dabbed them with a stiff brush, looks a little more like fabric now.

Re: LRDG chevrolet and Quad with 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Thanks Ron :)
Fixed a wire for the winch, the instructions don't mention this but i think it's needed.
First drilled a hole in the drum.

Then a thread of right diameter with a small knot in the end is pulled through the hole and secured with some glue.

And then roll up the rest and secure with some CA glue, voila!

now just need to find a hook for it...

Mats you making up for lost time?

The only thing I would say is do something about that string to make it look like a cable. I've read that beeswax does a good job at getting those fibers to lay down.

Re: LRDG chevrolet and Quad with 6 pdr. gun by Bagge

Looking good, Mats! I agree about the cable, looks kind of hairy right now. (y)
