Basically they are leading link forks. the wheel rocks against a damper/spring on the bottom of the forks instead of the forks travelling up and down. Advantage is the forks are rigid so much stronger, the set up is lighter. Maybe not as good on sharp corners where the bike leans over so you often see leading link forks on sidecar outfits.

I thought it was done by the driver to squeeze his knees together (as well as his butt cheeks at break neck speeds).

Yes, quite true! When your cheeks pucker the butt's a sucker... The suction cup effect on a seat!

That "seat" such as it is, could NOT be comfortable. Great job on the bike Paddy! Your bike knowledge is really showing through on these builds.

LOL! I try to keep my floor clean and uncluttered. NO CARPET! A couple of days ago I dropped a small nut I was going to add to a scratch part on the floor. Hard part is backing the chair up without damaging it.
Found it easily. Swept the crafting debris up with a drafting brush into a white plastic dust bin. Looked through the debris and found it quite easily. The nut was about 3/4 of a mm in diameter. Tiny.
What I use to sweep.

I have found PE throttle levers from a 1/72 scale aircraft build that were dropped on the floor with this method.

I use some panty hose material over the end of a vacuum hose (no, the vacuum is a Shark and not a Panty - hose- get it?). Lately, I have filled my coffer with the disposable 'socks' at shoe stores as they're the same material and found other uses for them (@centaur567 and @jknaus such as the soft mesh over the large scale Cobra air inlets).
