Building this for the local club annual build (P-47s this year), then realized that it will fit in nicely here as well. The kit will be built largely out of the box, though I do have some resin wheels that I acquired a while back from someone (probably a club member) and I may do something about gun barrels if I don't have tubing of appropriate size. I contemplated cockpit decals...but costing nearly as much as the kit, I decided to give them a pass. The kit comes w/ decent detail, albeit not all that accurate comparing to pics from a Razorback in the USAF Museum. Not going to be too bothered about it. Anyways, onto the kit.

Zotz decal set for "Jerry" Johnson and box of washed sprues. I'll eventually build one of each type he flew during WWII (P-39, P-38, P-47).

Finished the cockpit (except IP, still need dull coat and gloss for gauges) in a couple evenings. Belts were scratched from pieces of aluminum HVAC tape.

Just cutting thin strips of aluminum tape to the width I want for my belts, and adding some bends/kinks as I see fit. Same process that people use for masking tape belts. I find the aluminum tape holds it's form like PE belts, but is more pliable like masking tape. I did end up putting a small dab of PVA glue on the ends of the belts just to ensure they don't dislodge down the road.

That looks alot like the aluminium tape I "liberated" from our Installation Lab before I retired for the same purpose. They had some part rolls that the adhesive had TX'd and they had to throw it out. I use a product we have up here called "GOO GONE" to remove the adhesive.

Looks like we have the same cutting mat too.

Starting to look like a Jug. Unfortunately the front piece of the engine has gone missing. I'm a little concerned the cat may have gotten a hold of it and used it as a floor hockey puck.

Might have to pull a Pup and buy a second kit to use as parts. We'll see if it turns up. Fortunately it can be added at the very end.

Pets can be a real hazard to builds. Currently I have none and it isn't an issue. When I still had my Border Collie, the hobby room was kept closed. While he was a very good dog, there were a few rare days where he would go bat shit chasing a fly or something and stuff would get knocked over and bumped around.
