So it's been around 28-30deg here all week (82-86F) - temp stays like that until well past sunset. However I got a spare 30mins around 1600 yesterday afternoon and decided to shoot a coat of glossy black on the back-end of my F-15 as a base coat for the Alclad I'll be applying later... 'Hey what's the worst that can happen ?'

Well somehow I got the paint to the plastic, but it took a LOT longer than 30mins. Just over an hour after I sat down, I'd dis-assembled the brush twice and polluted the air around the man-cave with so much bad language I was ready for the Thought Police to arrive any moment.
What had happened was this - the air was so warm and so dry that the paint dried in the tip and built-up forming a 'dam'. That caused a back-log of paint as it was drawn through the cup and that back-log worked its' way back along the needle and pooled around the spring and the locking nut at the back !!
What a mess. Well it's all cleaned-up now and I've re-learned the lesson about patience being 50% of finishing a project. Just thought I'd share.
