New photo backdrop

I have been 'sperimentin. I went to HL about a month ago and bought some light linen type material in a light shade of blue. I also had some iron on hem to hem the material and put in a pocket for a small curtain rod to go through. Linda bought me a new cheap wally world clamp desk lamp and now I get to show what has transpired.

I know that the light needs to be diffused some what but hey, its better than the black plastic tablecloth I had.

I used various settings with the camera and now I would like some input please.

It looks to me your taking the right steps. I need to do something better for my photos, so hopefully someone will give you some advise and I will be able to learn from it too
