This could be very interesting... what kits are not available here that you can get there? She is stationed there so can use the USPS!!!!

They won't let her ship anything flammable... still there is a ton of stuff to be had... :coolio

Don't hate me... :rotf

I don't know how it goes for all kits, but Tamiya sells their 1/16 RC stuff in the home market way different than released anywhere else. They include enough gear that it's work it to pay EMS to ship 2nd day air (usually around $130) and still come out ahead.

Prices are generally cheaper (for Japanese companies) and from what I've heard, the LHSs put anything in the States to shame.

That's Awesome Barney! (y)

My son is in South Korea but he is pretty busy and I don't want to bug him to go shopping for me. I plan to do that myself next Christmas when I go to visit him. :D

Where is she moving to Barney?

There are tonnes of hobby stores in Tokyo, and two excellent used stores in Akihabara, great places to find kits!

Hey Barney! Clear out the garage because you are about to become the official distributor of Japanese models from Japan to everyone on the Alliance! (y) :D

Way to go man, I hope you score many great scores. I'll be watching the "Latest Acquisitions" Thread to see everything you get!

Ya'all are going to have to help me out... I know almost nothing about what is only available in Japan....
