Malta 1940-43; FIAT CR.42 Falco, SUPERMODEL 1/48

The model arises within the series: Malta 1940-1943. The planned painting are:
Option 1: The classic "spotted" in the colors of 96 Sq, 9 Gruppo
Option 2: night falcon, the black after all as it was in 377 Sq.

Replacing the lap belts on chain (when i saw this in the photo of the original cockpit by long time I could not believe that Italian pilots 'catches' ​​to the plane).

Hi Hubert. i like the CR-42 . Lots of personality ! I had thought about doing mine in the Ger4man colors but opted for the Hungarians. Good choice.

Is that kit in production ? I have never seen any super models in 1/48 scale.

Yes, and this "combo" model is cheaper (50%) then Italeri Fiat CR.42 - model is same!

They have also Hs-129 with Opel Blitz in 1/48.

Absolutely Love the "Falco."

You're correct that this kit is much less expensive than just the Italeri kit. This kit and the Hs-129 are great bargains.

Slowly, but work is going ahead. I was fix painting of the engine (the tappets now are silver). Small filling was done as well, so now is time to start tedious painting. I decided on a night version - so Falcon will carry markings of 377 Sqn.

The first try on (dry) mounting the upper wing to the fuselage, oh - will be hard... :huh:

I have the Classic Airframes kit of the Cr42 on floats... not even tempted to build it! :laugh:

Probably would not be too bad in 1/48. It was pretty chalenging in 1/72 .
