Thanks Ian, now if I can just figure out where I put that fret of PE? :frantic:

I'm mixed about opening the doors on the engine or not. There was never a scene where that's done although the opening scenes are Sgt Gun salvaging a throttle cable from a knocked out tank. I'm building it up like I will.

got side panels glued in as well as the 75 mm housing. The mount and gun are not yet, something going on, can't get it to rest on the mount. The front glacis is dry fit and the alignment looks spot on this time. Recall on the first one I had to reset it a couple of times. Still some bits that will never be seen again to add inside then I'll get her button up.
You might be wondering where the ammo storage is that should be over the radio. If you go back to this scene.

The ammo rack aint there either. Remember I'm doing the movie star.
Then there's this.

It would appear they covered the inside with a blanket or something to cut down the glare from the white paint job. I did this on the Academy kit that got so close, will it be seen when done? Doubt it but I'm doing it.

The box to the rear of the door? I think those are the round Thompson mg mags and in the box are more 37mm rounds. I closed off all ready racks this time.

They're the 50 round drums for the M1928A1 Thompson. Unfortunately, the kit looks like it supplies a M1 series Thompson. The muzzle brake is bigger on the M1928A1. The troops didn't like the drum. It was heavy, it rattled, was difficult to load (it had to be cranked to tighten the feed mechanism after inserting the rounds), and the gun had to be cocked and in the firing postion to install the drum. The British returned most of the drums supplied with the M1928A1 and requested the 20 round box magazines as replacement. The M1 wasn't designed to accept the drums.

But it's Hollywood, why let reality get in the way of the storyline.

Cheers,

If you check out the movie posters at IMDB you'll see the drum but one clip from the movie has the box loaded. Probably because the drum would have blocked camera angle of Bogart's face. Can't do that!

That's a M1928A1 with the front pistol grip. Hollywood would of had those on hand from cop and gangster movies made before the war.

Troops didn't like pistol grip either, they broke off to easily. Some enterprising troops modified the pistol grip to fit the slide grip.

Cheers,
RichB
