Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Ahem...allow me to be of some assistance...

0.010" is...really, really, really small

0.015" is...really, really small

0.020" is...really small

etc...

Yea, those are diameters, in thousandths of an inch. As a baseline, a sheet of paper is approximately .004" thick. So the smallest wire will be approximately 2.5 times the thickness of a sheet of paper.

Okay got some more goodness in the mail yesterday.

Great! Did you find the Rossagraph book in the envelope with the sprues, decals, accessories, and instructions? I know you found the CD.

A HUGE mail truck stopped in front of my home and honked its horn... I almost fainted! Of course, the driver walks around with a small box and smiles.

Inside, my order from Orange Hobby arrived with the anti-tank gun, Pz II upgrade parts, and German radio sets. Photos to follow later.

Regards,

This M1 is a COMPLICATED kit!

These are superb... The left one are German radios and the right one is a Pz II upgrade set for Tamiya's kit. New gun and PE.

Neat, I got a box from far off lands in New York, haven't had time to open it but I need to get off the Beep and got going. :mpup

I got a set of Teflon jaw pliers and some 20 gauge black craft wire at Hobby Lobby today. The pliers can be used to straighten out wire and will be great at straightening out photo etch also.

I also picked up some Plastic Prep. Never used this before.

This is new to me!

Until it died on me, I used a Discwasher brand piezoelectric anti-static gun:
zerostat3.jpg

After zapping it, the parts were wiped down with a lint free tack cloth to remove any dust. I bought the gun at a high end audiophile shop (Harvey's Electronics on 45th Street in NYC) for my vinyl records. The ionic stream would break the static cling of dust on plastics. I tried it on my models and it worked fabulously!

I now see one on evilBay!

Regards,

My poor ol' Zerostat is almost worn out, it's at least 35 years old. Worth having for lint free paint jobs!
