Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Let me know how you like the Agama paints, I have some and the thinner...

Barney, the reason I got the paints is the excellent brush painting done by Hubert using this brand. Check out his older builds where he states he brush painted the complete model. I could barely see brush marks when I visited his home. Truth by told, there really weren't any I would concern myself with!

So, I defer to Hubert as he is the experienced one with the brand.

Regards,

Now I have at least 1 of each Bf 110 1/32 kit.

And this arrived today from England. I didnt order it and have no idea who its from, unless maybe its a present for resubscribing to Military Modeler. Its very welcome though.

James, excellent haul, especially the $20 ferry!

You're probably right about the tool set for resubscribing.

Regards,

I just received the WnW FE2b....Amazed at the size of the thing. first thing was to double check the scale but its defo 1/32 !
I thought it was a 2 seater DH2 type of thing but its over twice the wingspan at nearly 20"

Cant wait to get started :) I think i will do it as a WIP here as i dont think its been done before unless you know better ? they do a all black night fighter which looks interesting :)

Nice set of handles there- what is that tool on the right? Looks like a plane.

It is a plane. You use the red handled chisel in it. The one on the left uses a knife and you can make strips with it. The tiny handle I've never seen before. It has scribes or tiny chisels. Very very cool set.

That's a great haul! I do like the tool set, makes a great addition to the workbench. be careful though, the collets on those blades are plastic and strip easily. I've had that happen before with a set I got. The blade kept getting loose and so when I tried tightening it up, I went too far eventually. Just a heads up. Enjoy the new 'toys'!

Take some teflon tape like what plumbers use and cover the treads with that. The biggest cause of thread failure is over tighning, this will help keep that from happening. I use that stuff on everything.

Photo etch and Goffy figures for my USS Orleck came in.

New sanding kit for my Dremel. The mandrel on the bottom left is for sanding disks. I've attached a piece of velcro to the mandrel, which is soft rubber. I'll use the opposite side of the velcro on the sanding disks. I've had one in the past, but the adhesive on the disk ripped the rubber on the mandrel.

New dvds. Task Force is AWESOME! The movie follows Gary Cooper's character from the Langley through WWII. It has unbelievable archival footage for the battle scenes including the USS Franklin sailing in to New York harbor after suffering a devastating kamakazi hit at Okinawa. The other dvd is a documentary that I picked up today at Walmart for $2.50. It covers air warfare from the invention of the airplane to 1945.

Wow, they make resin figures in 1/350 scale? I had no idea...That would be 1/10 of a 1/35 scale fella?

Cool.
