Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

OH man Warren!!! Take it easy and don't push it.

I'm sure you could convince someone to bring a few things up from the basement for you to work on.

Well, I tried getting to the basement today to do a little work or at least see if I could but with the cast on I can't quite get comfy at my bench. Plus, I have to get up frequently to access the laundry room sink and it is just more trouble than it is worth right now.

I think I'll try again in a couple weeks once I get the cast off, at least I should be able to bend my leg even if I can't walk on it yet.

I bought this Pete and a Ju-87 (both 48 scale) from a guy out west because they were a good price and he sent me the Ki-45 (1/72) for free

And this Ki-4 was an Ebay purchase that I wanted for a bit

Nice haul, Warren.

I have the Pavla 1/72 kit, too, and it is box 33 in the attic, according to the database. I like the look of the AT-9, but from all accounts it was a terrible flying airplane, which is probably why none made it to the civilian market.

I bought this via Ebay, had to go to S Korea to find it but a good company there with Free 3 day FedEx delivery in the price but still had to pay £90 GBP

Its a rarity now but happy to pay a bit because its one of the bikes i specialise in with my day job.....i wonder if it could be a business expense for tax ? :)

It could do with a smaller box i think.....

But it comes with paint :). I can already see some wire spokes needed and a lot of chrome to strip

However

This will be for another day as i need to build something with a gun next i think ...

Had some credit to use up at a vendor and since I couldn't find anything that tickled my fancy along my normal lines of interest, so I ended up acquiring a tracked thingy. Takom's 1/35 T-55AM. Still Cold War, so it got that going for it. It will be a nice comparison w/ the earlier production T-55 that I've already got in the stash (1/35 Tamiya).

I almost went with an M60...but they didn't have a Cold War era USMC version available, just late production w/ all the add-on reactive armor and a couple Army variants.

further to my post on the Laverda i had a look in the box to see if its was possible to re spoke the wheels with thinner spokes and i find that both wheels are scaled 18" which is correct however the front tyre is scaled 19" and even marked 19" !! there for its way to big for the rim :) doesnt bode well for the rest of the kit.

I think the only way round this will be cut a section out of the tyre and re join it. I have no idea how i will do that but i cant see another way.

One more reason why the English dont like the French :)

I pinged of an email to Heller, looking round the web it looks like all these kits have the wrong size tyres.....you never know, some people seem to have got replacements. :)
