While I am on a number of dedicated FB giga threads, I really don't care for the format. It goes all over the place and there isn't any continuity like there is in the threads here. Really hard to do or follow any kind of build on those.

They are fairly good for finding info on certain subjects "If you are in the right place and time".

As far as aggravating, there is something we call banned. Can't think of anyone recently getting that. They usually just fade away.

We do have our resident crazies like SADave, but there is a fun difference.

Geez I need to get busy, I have some new stuff to post on here. (yeah, yeah, no pics taken yet, photo table is covered with stuff :bang head :frantic )

OK I went and cleaned off the table I use for photos and took some.

The beetle kit is ok. If I obtain some transmission and suspension parts from the 1/16th scale Schwimmwagen that Eduard put out many moons ago I will convert it into a Commander wagen which had 4 wheel drive and the heavy off road tires of the Schwimmer. There are a bunch of little things to convert in order to do that, but it would be a really unique build and I have all the info I could ever need.

Had to obtain these quick like James did as they will probably not last long.

The airbrush is a new release with just the small paint well in the body. I don't much care for the black finish as it seems a bit less quality than the nickle or chrome finish on the other Badgers I have. There are a couple of other details with the tip parts that really should be done a little different and those parts should be either nickle or yellow plated not the black finish that they have.

I can't believe how cheap they are selling the new Sotars, glad I never bought one at the original price. I won my first one over at the old Swanny's site.

Looking forward to your write up Paul, we need something fresh on the front page. :popcorn

EJ, I remember that old MBI site; I was there as well. I got real upset when they closed it down to go to Facebook. I didn't know it was shut down because of someone aggravating him. I hope it weren't me. Still, it was a great place till then went to Facebook. I tried following some model sites on Facebook but like you all said; it's nearly impossible to keep up with it and by the time you see something worth posting on, it's usually gone before you can.

Paul excellent scores! How cool is that bug? Man, I can't wait to see what you do with that. I also have a Sotar; I even won it here from the last Call to Arms we did. You are gonna love that brush!

The box is quite large and jam packed...but at least it's not the 1/16 Trumpeter kit ;)

Make sure you are using their Mission Models paint thinner. Jon tamkin, MMP's owner, warned me against using other brands as it won't work as expected.

James, have you looked at this one yet? I must say that I am tempted to get this one.

I read where Russia has cancelled their T-14 Armata program as it is too expensive, so it looks like the T-80 will be in service a while longer

Thanks Saul. I did get their thinner and I got the polyurethane also. Coming close to where I can paint my BUK and I'll try out the Mission Models there.

I havent heard anything about the T-14 project being stopped. As for the kit I have heard it is not as accurate as the Trumpeter one, but I am not sure where. I think its a very nice kit especially for the first one. It has the soft plastic for where the rubber armour is and for where the soft plastic would work best. It also has turned brass smoke dischargers. Pawing through the box it certainly looks good with nice castings. I'm not sure when I will get to it as I am doing my WWII stuff at the moment, well a SA-11 also, but I'll be building it.

Well, I had made mention of getting a new spru nipper and cutting guide to my wife. SURPRISE - she bought me both. I had ordered the same and gotten them several days ago, so now I have duplicates. Luckily however, these are not exactly the same. The cutting guide is shapes ( I had gotten the strips one) and the spru cutters are a different Tamiya model with a somewhat smaller cutting area and a finer point. They cut superbly. Plus she got some sanding sticks.

Chappie had smooth tires with five spoked wheels so I found them in the Eduard Brassin line for the Spitfire Mk I. I also got the Mission Models Polyurethane additive James mentioned:

Quote from the story:
"The design’s ballooning cost has forced the Kremlin to focus its efforts on upgrading its T-72, T-80, and T-90 tanks, instead."

Yup, they are pretty plain. :hmmm Want to make them plane tow rigs like these -

with a bit of scratchbuilding. I've got a couple Essexes that can use them.
