Wow that book looks amazing Saul! I'll have to keep my eyes open for that one.

Nice score Sherman. That's gonna look great under the Bearcat.

Airfix's new Sea Fury and Xtradecals with RCN markings. Luckily, my kit doesn't have the short shot on the v-stab leading edge on the RH fuselage half. Some have also reported some flaws/bubbles in the canopy, mine looks ok. Unfortunately, all the kits will require an aftermarket gun sight. Somehow that was missed during development. Eduard's interior PE set has the missing sight.

Got that magazine on my tablet last night and there is some very interesting stuff. Just need to sit and read it.

Well Friday was a good and bad day. Got this new book on the HE 162 and it is interesting but not what I was looking for and in my opinion not worth the price. Its basically all the documentation for the HE 162 project and some colour plates and ref pics. It doesnt have the close ups and info to help detail the kit.
And finally got another HE 162. Should have stockled up when they were prevelant. Now they are hard to find. Unfortunately due to a mix up my kit with the brass landing gear and guns and PE and masks was sent to someone else while I got a vanilla kit. The seller is awesome though and was going to refund the whole thing and let me jkeep the kit. That didnt seem fair to me so in the end he refunded me half which I think was fair.

Oh man that was hard James.

In the end it shows the kind of person you are though! Kudos to you James! (y)

Man the typing on here has gotten weird the last couple of days. It is lagging horribly. Anyone else seeing this?

Received 3D printed turret and Polsten 20 mm gun breeches for a Skink anti-aircraft tank from Shapeways. They are printed in Frosted Ultra Detail plastic. The turret is designed to fit the Asuka/Tasca M4's. I happen to have one of those on the bench and the turret ring is approximately 0.2 mm larger than the opening in the upper. A little work with the sanding stick will fix that. The turret is also available sized to the Dragon M4. The Polstens are available with printed barrels but the seller didn't recommend them as they have a tendency to warp. Brass tube was recommended.

The exterior is fairly smooth and may only need some light sanding in a few spots. The "blotches" are on the interior of the turret but don't affect the surface finish. It is caused by the support wax that keeps the printed part from collapsing during the printing process.

Man that thing ain't in the Sherman book, I don't think. That's wild. With the 3d printing and the artist who make the CAD drawings, we're in a great hobby! (y)

Its on page 392 of Hunnicutt's Sherman book. Only 3 were built and one went overseas for trials. It never fired a shot in anger against aircraft but was used by Canadian units to reduce bunkers, fortified buildings and other strongpoints.

My mother may not understand why I am returning this unless I send the photo. I do love the shark theme though:
