I would love to see that F1 build Saul

This is my second kit (the first is the two seat F.1B). I will have a photo look into the box later this weekend. I am waiting for some aftermarket items for this kit. On another site, others have already pointed out improvements which can be made. Of course, the way it is written, they are complaints but I do my best to only see the positive.

Last, I received an envelope from Scott's Model Workshop (eBay seller rebelalpha)

OK, I need to take photos of what I took delivery of which includes:

SBS Model P-39 Airacrobra (Curtiss) Propeller set for Eduard/Hasegawa
Begemot Decals 48-003 MiG-21 complete stencil
Begemot Decals 48-010 MiG-25 (cool sharkmouth scheme for my Kitty Hawk kit even though designed for the Revell model)
Begemot Decals 48-011 MiG-25 full stencil

It was too expensive, but from what I have read so far it is the best one out. Next year AFV Club will also release one. I will be doing a 439 Sqn CAF (now RCAF) a/c from Baden in the early 80's hopefully for a friend of mine who flew them..

So true, I wonder if the AFV Club kit one will be more affordable. I have the Hasegawa 48th scale kit but there are some nice schemes out there... even for me!

Maybe these for the special scheme lovers:

Hopefully, Zotz decals will come to the rescue. For the smaller scale, DaCo Productions will have replacement sprues to improve the detail and accuracy of the Hasegawa 1/48th scale kit. Thing is, by the time you factor in the price of the sprues, it reaches the Italeri kit price!

The Boss went Black Friday shopping and decided she needed a Keurig coffee maker. That thing costs a little over 100 dollars. On sale. So I decided that Daddy needed an early Christmas present too:

I grabbed the one above and this one from Sprue Bro's Cyber Monday week sale:

Some more pre Christmas splurges. 2 more Komets and the new Meng Leopard. I am going to see if the C-1 conversion will fit on this kit.

Well now that I have normal computer use back since the move I figured I would post my finds for the last few months. Most of these came from Tower Hobbies Ten weeks of Hasegawa sale awhile back. Was hard to pass up these deals. If anybody wants to see inside of any of these just let me know.

An eagerly anticipated package arrived in the mail today.

1/192 USS Winslow TB-5 Foote Class Torpedo Boat (1897-1911) from Flagship Models. Kit is a resin & photoetch kit of a turn of the century torpedo boat.

I got the kit for free from the owner of Flagship Models. The catch is I have to assemble & paint it, and then take good pictures of the finished model, which will then be used as the box art for future sales of the kit. I was extremely humbled that the owner thought I had the skills to pull it off.

Pictures of the kit. Kit is packaged in a nice sturdy double layer cardboard box.

With the contents very nicely wrapped an cushioned in bubble wrap & packing peanuts.

And here is the contents of the kit. A 2 piece hull allowing for either full hull or waterline (I'll be building it full hull and mounted on a display base), a baggy with all of hte small resin components as well as 2 pieces of brass rod, a nice fret of photoetch, a period correct US flag, and a very nice and clear double sided 11"x17" instruction sheet.

Resin components (smoke stacks(2), torpedo launchers (3), stored torpedo's (4), engine air inlets (6), propellers (2), and the 2 pieces of brass rod. One brass rod is for the mast and the other is for the propeller shafts)

And the hull. Sorry for the less than stellar photo, the light colored resin made it kinda difficult to photograph. Once I start working on it and get it all primed, I'll get better pictures.

I've got 2 full weeks off for Christmas starting on Saturday, so hopefully I'll be able to make progress on this over the break. I was told there's no time frame on this build, so that I can take my time to make sure to get the best possible build out of it.
