Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I like the houses, been eyeing a couple I want. Will you be building the Cuirassier? I am interested in know what the kit is like and how it goes together.

One thing I don't like about the buildings shown here are the lack of floors (regardless of the scale). The mounted figure is for my son but I was interested more in the horse.

The city house in 1:72 scale looks very cool!
Is it vacuum formed?

Ron, it is heavy because they use MANY parts and sprues in injection molded polystyrene. No vacuum formed parts at all in this kit.

I like that 1/72 scale house as well. I need to save my ducats and pick one of those up. I did their farmhouse and barn and they go together very well.

As usual, if someone wants a closer look, I can add it to my to do list.

I can echo that. I've got a Miniart ruined building, and if I want any kind of flooring for the 2nd floor portion of the building, its going to have to be scratch build, which I'm not especially keen on.

It actually isn't too hard to do. All it takes is some small pieces of balsa or basswood (basswood is better) Make the joists from thicker planks and attach them end-on to the wall. Then plank the tops and bottoms with thinner strips. Add some Modge Podge to the underside to make a smooth ceiling and then paint it the same color as the walls and you've got a nice wood floor with a smooth ceiling underneath.

Saul, I'm trying to get that Tiger II going again; I'm just a little short of some room. I need to mask it off and paint it and then I can move forward. This week is looking clear so I am hoping to have more time to get caught up on long-stagnant projects that need to get completed and that Tiger is near the top of that list along with the DC-6 and Vicker's Valiant. Stay tuned as I hope to have more progress done on them all soon.

Yea, that was almost exactly how I was planning on attempting to pull it off. Use thin strips for the flooring & ceiling, and then square pieces for the joists. Nice thing is at least they molded the joist openings into the interior wall panels, so I know where they'd need to go.

My last big buys for the year have come in. Grabbed the He 111 and Buffalo from Squadron for dirt cheap. The Viking ship and Pinta both came from Amazon. As usual if anybody wants a peek inside of the box just let me know.
