Junkers Ju87D "Stuka" 1/32

Looking good Matts. Depending on when in the war this a/c is from the siren was removed. After a while it no longer gave the psychological terror it had at first and they got a few mph back by removing the props which caused some drag. Thats as far as I know from my reading.

Did some painting today, with mixed success :tomato

Propeller

The top of the propeller is yellow and that's where i was not so successful, i primed it again (just the top) and then tried to mask off the top :bang head and then the yellow paint was to thin :vmad

Did some mixes and i think they are good enough for me

See if i can save the prop or if i repaint it....

Bomb looks good Mats, I have never been able to preshade, I always layer too much on the top coat.

On the prop, would you have a hard demark between the colors?

yes it's a sharp edge between the ral70 and the yellow, i found another can with yellow and filled in with a brush, it looks ok, i see if i can do some wash ontop of it (it's spinning so maybe i can pull off something :D

It was difficult to make the maskingtape follow around the conical spinner, think i should have painted the yellow first.... must remember that to next time

Here is a pic of the prop

Yeah the preshade, it was the first time i managed to do it :dance

Looking good Mats, that prop reminds me of the caramelised sugar my nan used to make sometimes - SWEET !!!

:D

Anyone knows how the decals must sit on the SC1000 bomb?
I find the instructions a little weak, just say top side and side view but no mention on what side!
And what's the use of putting decals on the top side? you never see them!

//Mats

Not sure if the SC1000 is the same as the SC500 but I ran into a similar quandary on my Condor, I added two bombs from a Hasegawa ordinance set and it showed two stencils going around what appeared to be the filler plugs on the bomb body and when loaded on the plane they would be on the top of the bomb where they can't be seen. Only useful if you are displaying the bomb separately or on a bomb loader.

They were meant for the armorers to see...

Thanks for the tips and links :good:

Well i guess i have a 50/50 chance of putting them on the correct side, and if i'm wrong i will sure hear it :smack

Big bomb!

Now on to the next step!

They look great...too bad you couldn't put it into a scene with it on a bomb loader near the plane...but that would take up some space I imagine

A little slow here but i got a little done today, prepared the pilot for casting, need a couple for my Ju88's and these fit perfect :)

Hope to get more done tomorrow :) :coolio

Looks cool Mats. Dont put any other bombs on the a/c though as this one taxed it sorely. And you can always use one of these bombs on a sled wired to a bridge. Cant find the pic for the life of me, but this may be of interest.
