Junkers Ju87D "Stuka" 1/32

That must have been one heck of an ice storm to fly through and stay in one piece for landing Mats. :eek:hmy:

You knew it was coming sooner or later didn't you

Tony lee :)

Someone posted some Luftwaffe regs regarding caring for aircraft paintwork and if you read the dates of the regulations in the article they are either pre-war or early war dates so that would not really apply to your Stuka.
From the mid-point of the war onward the practice of waxing aircraft to get more speed was on the decline in the Luftwaffe except for special aircraft like the Me 163, the notion of Luftwaffe ground crew following to the letter the pre and early war regulations on protecting paint finishes later in the war is downright laughable. :rotf

Maybe I should change my Name to someone........

I put these two pages up because of constant ''reminders'' that somehow in the modelling world ALL model aircraft MUST be presented dirty.

As for this comment
the notion of Luftwaffe ground crew following to the letter the pre and early war regulations on protecting paint finishes later in the war is downright laughable. :rotf[/quote]

What was said about late war aircraft conditions? in my post?

first photo shows polished clean aircraft in 1943 which just gives the modeller an idea or option how to present his work if they do not want it weathered to hell.

Besides, anyone would realize the Luftwaffe's position late in the war was survival as the number one point, not ''presenting a Concours d'Elegance '' style aircraft..

Phil

Phil I think everyone would agree that the regulations would be pushed aside late in the war. Happened with the Japanese as well.

Thanks guys and i'm happy that you like the prop :)

MP, i was hoping that there was a Stuka with yellow tips or something like that on the prop, but no, just one solid blackgrey :(

Now back to the rest of the plane....

Back with the flying thingy :)
Figured out how to attach the plane to the base, a hard metal rod through the wingtip and after i will fill the inside with resin so the rod stays good in place.

Glued on the pieces that must be on the wing to fill up the holes, then filled the wing with resin, did a little to much in so it leaked a little through a small hole :facepalm but nothing to worry about.

Was a little nervous that it would create to much heat for the plastic but it went fine :v

Hope to get a little done on this project now, and then back to the guns :)

I just hope i can paint it so it looks good to, would really hate if i screwed it up in the end with a sloppy paintjob :facepalm

The bird has it's first wing!

I have some work with the gaps, not easy for an armour guy to build these things... :facepalm
