Home Sweet Home

After 14 months of blood, sweat and tears, the blood always accompanied the tears, we are finally moved in to our new home. Everyone is settled in, including the pups. The wife even called me in my studio to ask where I was.

The other day we enjoyed a nice afternoon in the backyard, Ian pulling his wagon around and the dogs lounging in the sunbeams. We need to get some patio chairs for the backyard. We are using the mother-in-laws right now.

It's also nice to pull in under the carport and walk to the front door when it is raining. No more parking on the street. (y)

Everyone is doing good and Ian's dog Mac is really starting to show off the benefits of working with a service dog trainer. Unfortunately he won't be able to certify service dog. He does great with everything but being able to ignore things around him. He's just to dang social. The trainer lovingly calls him a "hot mess". he will be able to pass his AKC Good Citizen test though and we will certify him as a therapy dog and we hope to start a therapy dog program at our local hospital.

:mpup

We've started looking for Mac's replacement. The pup will have to have the same health credentials that a K( or military dog has to have. We're still using Mac with Ian as this will be good training when he becomes a therapy dog. Mac goes everywhere with us in his "In Training" vest. Saturday he went to his first model contest. He was the biggest attraction there.

Glad to hear that everything is all settled in Kenny. Seems like the dog has himself a great place to lounge around there on that cot (y)

Great News, Kenny!

Like many service men, I moved far too often and can appreciate the thought of settling down and having a real home...

Glad/Sad to hear about the dog... I think ignoring stuff is the hardest thing to SQUIRREL do for a dog... But a therapy dog is a real blessing...

Thanks for bumping this Barney

We had a thread talking about CTA2 and hinted that we already had in mind who would be the beneficiary of that fundraiser.

I'm proud to say now that CTA2 will be dedicated to the Loup Family and their new service dog! We'll be raising money to help Kenny cover the expenses for the new service dog to help Ian.

I hope everyone will pitch in and lend a hand and help get that boy a puppy! :mpup

We'll have more later on what's going on. :eek:hyeah

(y) (y) Very cool Bob. Count me in already. If any help is needed just let me know.

Good news Kenny! I imagine how hard is this period, so keep charging!

Cheers :drinks

Thanks Ryan, put you down as a volunteer, it's so much easier when y'all go willingly. :rotf

We know Barney and he is such a good dog with a great personality and temperament. We say all the time that if we would have gotten him as a very young pup he would have been an excellent service dog.

Bob, as I've said before, we are honored that CTA2 is going to help us. Y'all are a great bunch of guys.

Cool, you have aliens?! They don't come around here. I guess their afraid they are going to end up in a jambalaya or a gumbo.

Why does everyone name their dog Barney? :idonno

I am getting confused.... which is normal... :yipee

Let me know how I can help.... I may be miles away, but I can write a check... :geek

As you all know, I have severe PTSD. Too many deployments, and working in inner city high schools... I have a dog tat more than once kept me going and brightened my day.... Service Dogs are a blessing and I will be honored to chip in... :mpup
