After 14 months of blood, sweat and tears, the blood always accompanied the tears, we are finally moved in to our new home. Everyone is settled in, including the pups. The wife even called me in my studio to ask where I was.
The other day we enjoyed a nice afternoon in the backyard, Ian pulling his wagon around and the dogs lounging in the sunbeams. We need to get some patio chairs for the backyard. We are using the mother-in-laws right now.
It's also nice to pull in under the carport and walk to the front door when it is raining. No more parking on the street.
Everyone is doing good and Ian's dog Mac is really starting to show off the benefits of working with a service dog trainer. Unfortunately he won't be able to certify service dog. He does great with everything but being able to ignore things around him. He's just to dang social. The trainer lovingly calls him a "hot mess". he will be able to pass his AKC Good Citizen test though and we will certify him as a therapy dog and we hope to start a therapy dog program at our local hospital.
We've started looking for Mac's replacement. The pup will have to have the same health credentials that a K( or military dog has to have. We're still using Mac with Ian as this will be good training when he becomes a therapy dog. Mac goes everywhere with us in his "In Training" vest. Saturday he went to his first model contest. He was the biggest attraction there.
