Fiat CR.42 plus photo etch.

Hi Mike, it just might be but I think Tequila would be a better choice. There has been way too much blue tack and not enough plastic these last few days.

Cheers, Christian B)

Awesome paint job up til now, Chris : painting the upper side of the lower wing, with the upper wing glued in place, must've been a bitch!

It's one of those "don't try this at home folks" kinda things, know what I mean?!? ;)

The cammo colors are very cool! I just didn't know the Regia Aeronautica used that kind of paint scheme... Can't wait to see the FIAT decalled and weathered: another great piece of modeling for our delight! (y)

Cheers! B)

Hi Fernao, this is not a regia aeronautica plane. These are export colors. It's OK, you 'll like them when I'm done.

Cheers, ChristianB) B)

interesting to see how you do that camo. Looks good so far!

and no, I'm sorry no Fiat around here

Back again with the last color for the camo .

so here we are. Still need some touch ups but the main colors are down and we're watching the Future cure.

Meanwhile back at the wood shop the wing strut has been repaired. Let's hope it's strong enough for the job.

Not quite perfect but I guess it'll do

Very nice paint scheme! I know that my eyesight can't be compared to your's, but I'm pretty much with Moon: don't see anything wrong with the strut pictured...

So... you say it'll be an "export" model, eh? :hmmm Whatever it may be, it'll be an exquisite little beast, another one for your beautiful collection. :dude

Thanx for sharing, Chris!
Fernao

Hi Fernao,
thanks for your kind words. So far it has been a battle of wits. I want to do this or that but it will not . Eventually, I think we'll arrive at a compromise.
As far as eyes are concerned these glasses have been reminding for three weeks that things are not as they were in the past. I'll be glad when I can go back to contacts.

Cheers, Christian B)

Well folks time to hoist the colors. I have a few updates for today.

Still a lot of detail painting to be done but even I was surprised when all the masking tape finally came off.

The only thing I can think that would have been any more fun would have been skull and cross bones on the black flags.

Hope you enjoy it and all comments are welcome.

Cheers, Christian B)

Nice colors!!! Is that a missing strut I see. I hope it's not broken.

Terry (y)

It was repaired several pictures above. There are other struts that are not installed to facilitate the paint mask. That should be my next step tomorrow.

Thanks for looking, Christian B)

Thanks, Tom, James, martin, T . It has been a frustrating build build. It's very fragile, very small and used up most of my tape but I think it will be very rewarding in the end.

Cheers, Christian B)

Excellent, Chris! :dude I can only imagine all the challenges you faced to get to this point - that bugger is so small. :pinch: But as you said it yourself, it certainly is rewarding, for the result is splendid! :notworthy

Very nice build and paint job. BTW, I also always wondered why in those days the planes wore more colors than a peacock, instead of trying to blend in with their background... :hmmm

Cheers and thanks for sharing, man! B)
