HI to you all, hope everybody is doing fine, my modeling time has being very limited on the last 6 months but finally got time to sit, do some work and a much needed update on Dora’s build. Continuing the work on the base for the gun the base wall is almost finished.
Applied a coat of spackling to the foam wall
Gave the spackling a rough texture
Next a coat of brown acrylic paint
Followed by the first coat of dirt, its still wet in some places
Now the first coat of dirt on the tracks area
Next I did what I think is an air raid shelter on the wall as seen on the photos
Used a figure for scale
The entrance received a dirt coat
Next I carved the support beams form
The beams are made from balsa wood
With the beams in place the area around it is finished
Now to cleaning the tracks after applying the dirt
Now using 1/32” balsawood I cut the strips that make the sidewalk
Here the strips are ready for paint
Test fit of the boards
The side walk goes all the long of the base
And the entrance to the shelter
The finished sidewalk
Now I started to work on the camo posts, these are used to lay camo nets
To conceal the gun from enemy planes
I 3d printed T’s and Y’ from resin to fit on a 1/8 styrene tube to
Make the camo posts.
Test fit of the parts, it will be about 13 poles to cover the length
of the wall.
here you can see the sidewalk made with boards and the shelter entrance, also the tubes and cammo nets
Now I’m working on finishing the camo nets and adding some foliage
To the base and top of the wall.
Thanks for stopping by!
