Commando car, winter battle

thanks James :) almost messed it up now, made the glasses for the headlamps with crystal clear and can i say more than i had that stuff a little everywhere! grrr, but i managed to clean it off puhh!

I managed to do a little work on this one in the weekend B)
continued to work on the lights and some decals.

And then crystal clear again (this time it went better :silly: )

And here it is now with wheels!!
Just put them on tonight and they need a little work to not look to blinky.

James, it's resin wheels with chains, and i'm very impressed with the details on them, just had to modify them a little bit to fit the Italeri jeep.

Thanks! was adding some snow today.... let's see tomorrow what it looks like :hmmm :unsure:
I used tamiya snow effect and so far it looked pretty ok but not sure until it's completely dry.

Ok so here are some more pics of what has happened... :huh:
Started to cut the base from isolation, it's going to be a small snowy road and a froozen creek at the bottom ( i hope i can do it :hmmm ).

Hope you like it, if anyone have good tips on making ice i'm happy to hear them :D i have some idea on how to do it but never tried something like this before.... :geek

I think the good Dr. Steinman has several snow and ice articles here Mats, check it out. I'll find links for you shortly. (about to walk out the door from work)
 
Uhm wayting till winter and then throwing some water over it is not an option I gather :D

Here we go, started to experiment with the creek, first i painted the base, red brown and dark green tamiya spraycan paint.

then i cut out a piece of clear styren for the ice

Then mixing vallejo water effects 3 to 1 to get a slight blue tint to the water (not sure how it will look because it's the first time i use them)

this will be ontop of the water effect and under the clear styren

It will be a while now until i post again because of vacation plans but keep looking i will get back to it as soon as i can!
