Columbian M8 Escarabajo

Columbian M8 Escarbajo

Seems like a lot of armor for a single HMG, guess it's just the impression it makes.

Could also be that these have moved from font line service to ‘Civil Gaurdia’ service. In many South American countries (and some European, like Spain), it is not a good idea to give too many weapons to the Civil Guard units, else they be stolen or turned against you. Also, John Browning’s Masterpiece M2 .50 cal. heavy machinegun was fitted with a variable headspace barrel, a necessity for the day due to ammo concerns. This means that if not properly installed the gun can be heavily damaged or ruined upon firing, and this may also be a reason only MG is shown.
What I also find interesting is that they kept all 4 of the 200 round ‘tombstone’ drums, so perhaps it is there to make an impression

Regards,

Man, that looks cool! To bad they could have designed a way to recess the mount a little.
