We just got another 12 inches of the white stuff on top of 6 inches we already had on the ground. These were taken about 5 hours ago and it hasn't let up. The temperature tonight is supposed to drop to 27 below zero. Not only the schools, but all the malls in the St. Louis area are closed.

Normally it would be. Problem is, that building you see in the photographs? That's the museum. All the figures are there from the last photo session. I paint figures in the lower level of the house. The snow is thigh deep, it is about 17 below zero out there. Think I'll watch a movie or something! :yipee

Holy Crap, I read below 27...you said 27 BELOW!!! Brrrr MAN!!

I haven't seen that since USAF days. still sends a chill up my spin. Stay warm guys!

Yep good day to stay inside and keep warm. We haven't gotten much at all in the way of snow. Which is really bad for this area. Means a bad fire season this summer.

DAMN there is a whole lot of white dust outside there
Just got back from a day at the beach with the kids. Cold front came in late this afternoon and it cooled down to 25C. Just thought I would tell you guys what the other side of the world is like. :geek

Snow since October. Warming up a bit, only -30 right now with a windchill of -40. Better than earlier this morning. Supposed to warm up next week.

That's about 80° Fahrenheit to us guys. That's July weather here. Wish I was there instead of here, Dave!

I take it you are in South Africa, right? Never been there but heard it's beautiful!

Bob

Hope you're all keeping nice and warm there, I do miss the snow sometimes but the image below offers some acceptable alternative to a freezing cold winter :D

In my area of PA we got maybe 6 inches overnight the 2nd and 3rd. I was to go back on the road on the 3rd. I called in and told them we were snowed in,and came back the 4th,

I am in northern KY,around 22 miles south of Cincinnati. It is around 40 F and raining. It is supposed to get below 0 F tonight and snow. :S Not sure what the roads will n be like tomorrow.

Low 40's and cloudy all day in Columbia SC, tomorrow the morning temps will be less than 20 f and the day will be mid 40's. Not much snow falls in SC! But you guys 'enjoying' this weather be safe.

We had about 12-15" on Wednesday and Thursday...and it got to -15 to -20...but we appear to be in a warm up now and are expecting rain overnight which ought to make everything nice and sloppy on our first day back to school tomorrow :(

Well, it finally stopped snowing. Now all we have to do is deal with the 37 below zero wind chill factor, (That's minus 38.33 Celcius for our non American members), and getting our dogs to go out in it. Dancer, our doberman is a large dog and I couldn't understand why she refused to venture forth in the snow. Then I took a photo of outside the back door from her point of view.

OK, I got it now!

Here is a photo of our neighbor's house across the street, except I can't tell where the street is?

It's pretty right now, give it a day or two, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Dobbies are smart, why should she leave that warm house??

Here's my favorite quote of all time:

Awesome quote, bro! :ro:

Nothing here but a lot of rain, which ended this morning. Now the low overnight tonight is supposed to be 6°, which will break a 130 year old record. Warmest temp was at midnight last night and its forecasted to not get above freezing here again until Wednesday afternoon, which is extremely unusual for this area.

I should call & check on my grandpa, he lives down in Battlefield. Don't imagine its too much different there than in St. Louis.
