Wow, that was a while ago, Paul! However, we will be adopting two baby tortoises today. The wife has a connection at work that breeds them. We got one, but she sadly didn't make it. As fate would have it two others from the same clutch of eggs need a new home and since we have all the gear, well- it's Turtle Time!

I did a painting for Veteran's Day and the centennial of the end of WWI this morning (cross posted from the Veteran's Day thread) :

Oops- the start of WWI! Fixed it. And the Well? That's getting finished next! I can't stand having unfinished projects- plus I'll be able to pimp my book on the armor forums!

Oh, and that piece was a quickie- about four hours.

Speaking of slaps, I've been getting nothing but slapped down. Two weeks ago, my truck was broken into while I was upstairs in the house trying to recover from a cold. They took my registration, proof of insurance and my radio. Had to go through the hassle of notifying the credit bureaus and putting a fraud alert on all our accounts. Three weeks before that, I had a large and expensive Nativity set stolen. Last night, while I was sleeping, my catalytic converter was stolen from under my truck! I'm on my way to go get my truck now.


Man, I just cannot catch a break! I lost a whole day of work!

Gee, I guess when I return, I'll try to post pics of my latest progress that I managed to complete on my Hobby Day weekend.

Neurology visit for Ian Friday. After increasing one of the 5 seizure meds he's on and taking him off of one, he is seizure free. We will start trying to take him off another one this week or the next. Ian is more aware of what is going on around him so we are hopeful that we are moving in the right direction.

Well, all the beasts are home. The guy repairing our front porch has decided that the weather is too chancy to finish the job... This is CLEVELAND! The weather is always chancy.

Carol asked me when I was going to put the new entertainment center together (required a total of 10 bolts)? I sent he a picture of the completed project.

Tomorrow we have Bible Study/Book Club. We are discussing The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Fascinating book!

That sucks Mark. I have to wonder if it is the same person doing all of that. I knew a guy a few years back that had that problem. Somebody broke into his place 3 times in a row. The last time he happened to be home and was waiting for the thief. That poor thief ended up with a broken nose and broken arm. The cops showed up and told my buddy that clearly the thief was resisting arrest lol. Yet another reason to not mess with an ex Marine.

My car was broken into when I was stationed on St Croix. I mentioned it to my 1st Sgt and within a week, most everything was returned. I may have been a mainlander, but I was their mainlander and nobody was going to steal from one of theirs.

Wish I could! There's just no way we can move. Everything is far beyond our price range. We have no choice but to stay here.

Nerdling, I think it is the same person. I think they associate with the people who moved into the unit in front of ours. Once my wife gets cameras and motion sensors we'll hopefully catch them in the act. Until then there's no way to be certain who's doing it. And yeah, if I do catch him, I'll go all Marine Corps on the bastard too. :vmad

Been there... I used to live in a place that was so bad the police would not come there at night in less than platoon strength! :laugh:
Had a neighbor who used to keep a .410 with rock salt... :rotc and yes he occasionally had to use it... about once a year...

Just got surprised by a new program, that no one told me about, but I have to support it... 20 minutes out of my instructional time for STOP! DROP! READ! :facepalm
