All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Feel your pain Mark. Lived in some apts next door to some section 8 apts many years ago. Woke up to a gun battle going on. 20 minutes after it was quiet the poice swarmed the place. For some reason they never messed with us. Figured out later that there were a LOT of weapons in our group and most of the folks knew how to use them. Exmilitary and hunters.

Hope you catch the pieces of garbage.

I live in Lakewood, OH... There has been 1, count it, 1 murder in LKWD since I moved to Cleveland in 2000... drunks we have aplenty... dopers too... just not too much violent crime...

Dang, blows the adage about "they steal everything that's not bolted down" out the water.

Unbelievable! I've known a couple of people whose wiring and plumbing was taken, bit a who school!

Thanks all for the encouraging words. I am unable to get a gun, and moving is out of the question. Kenny, I would love to have you come over and have a "come to Jesus" with this thief! We will be looking into some cameras activated by motion sensors to hopefully catch them in the act. I was even talking to my mechanic, expressing a wish to be able to electrify the truck so that if someone touches it again they get zapped by 220+ volts of electricity! That would sure stop things.

This is generally a good neighborhood that got cleaned up considerably from the time we first moved in. There were no incidences like this before the new neighbors moved in next door. I think it is someone that comes over to visit them that is doing this. They themselves are quiet and friendly people who don't make any trouble for anyone. Someone who comes to see them does though. Aside from the cameras and constant reports to the Sheriff, all I can do is leave things in God's Hands.

well how about this for crime

Was that school abandoned Dave? Just crazy.

I just got back from my final week of work yesterday. Had a lovely 130 mile drive through the snow. Only the last 30 miles was bad. Packed snow and ice. Just put it in 4 wheel drive and went slow. The worst though was when I got into town and there was about 15 inches of unplowed snow. Cars stuck everywhere. Had to use 4 low to get through some stuff. Why is it when I see snow I instantly think of the Eastern Front :rotf

Carol and I have decided to forego Christmas Presents and get the upstairs painted instead. This is a wise decision. We also get to spend a couple of nights in a BnB somewhere while the paint in the bathroom dries!

Also, my birthday is 5 days after Christmas.... hehehehe... I am already building a list of kits.

Bought the van $2200 in Christmas presents today, new oil pan, evaporator canister (or was that a flux capacitor :woohoo: ), gaskets and seals on the lower intake manifold, new wipers all around and a couple of light bulbs on top of the usual winter check-up.

Cheers,
Rich

Picking up the pieces.

Housing Autority said everything need to be moved away from the electric baseboard heaters so the workers today could have access to them.

DISASTER!

My 1/72 scale Flower Class Corvette now looks like it was attacked by squadrons of Focke Wulf Condors. Almost all of the superstructure is off, the rudder is busted right where the rudder joins the rudder post. The gun shields are off the main gun and the bridge 20mm guns. Was moving the model whnit launched and dove bow first onto the tile floor. Other models were also damage as well as a few other things. Then today the workers came and said (are you ready for this?) we don't need to have access to the heaters we're not looking at them.

Two friggin days of taking apart my apartment so they'd have unrestricted access to those heaters and then they say they never intended to look at them? !!!! Next time the HA tells us to move stuff I'm telling them to shove it!

Argghhh!

Cheers from Peter

got parts for the harrier all set for a fun day at the bench BUT I had to do laundry instead. the drain hose came off the bottom and soaked the kitchen. I got that fixed and then the timer broke so the normal cycle doesn't work unless you can wash clothes with out water. By the time the laundry was done I had supper to prepare and since I am the only one home its an everyday occurrence.

It happens just about every time the workers come here. The only difference this time is that it happened when I was moving the stuff.

What a bummer though because now the Corvette (Radio control) is out of commission until spring and won't be able to be run on the pond before freezup this year.

At least nothing happened to my 1/48 CF-100 Clunks I'm working on.

Wow Peter, that just bites! Man, I hate when that happens.

I spent all day yesterday moving things to the new storage unit that my wife agreed to rent. All my tools for my handyman job are now nestled securely in a storage unit instead of in my tiny condo. I can now breathe in without knocking something down!

Today we're going to start finishing up a job for someone repairing the outside of their house. Been at this for a couple weeks now. Should be done in the next few days. Maybe later I can get some bench time.

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

They were going to finish my front porch re-build, but they claim that the weather this AM (-8° windchill) was too severe. Wimps

Here with windchill is -16C so I put on my long sleeve shirt before going out.

Cheers
