That bow break looks great! Why is she leaning so much, in a turn?

You're making me want to dig into that Graf Spee again.

Thanks MP :D

Initially I wanted to show her in a storm, but then, I found weather reports saying it was windy on the 5th, not stormy, just very windy. Doesn't call for extreme waves, even around Pearl.

Turning indeed she is, but, as I wanted to keep the size to an absolute minimum, there is not enough "water" to show a wake corresponding to a turn. It adds a bit to the intention of avoiding boring straight lines where possible.

Looks really good Laurence,

Will you be doing more to the water?

Thanks Bob :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

The water has barely just begun, it will keep me busy for a month, maybe less, if I can help it. Apparently, on the 5th of December 1941 here were gusts of wind up to 30 km/h so plenty of waves and wave breakers, foamy bits everywhere :D

Thankfully, the Winsor & Newton white and raw umber come to the rescue - LOVE those paints !!!

I have had this project in the secret files for the last month and that is why I haven't done anything on that Revell P-40. This is my first commission build with out the commission. The guy saw the last P-47 I built on some posts I put on Face Book and wanted me to build something that reflect the squadron that his father was in as an armorer during WWII. This is the 396 FS from the 398FG. This fellow bought the kit and sent me a couple of books that he had written. My only grief after trying to source decals for this build is how to box this up for shipment where it doesn't get broken.

I have quite a bit of touching up to do before I weather it but I am going to take a break for a day or two so I don't really mess it up for the guy.

There's a high pitch growl from somewhere on my bench just now... Definitely not a NASCAR sound !

...what a tease :tomato

Ian.

NASCAR ??? Aren't you doing that Le Mans Porsche ?

No disrespect to our American friends here, but I never warmed up to NASCAR.

Laurence

Yep you're quite right, the block is from the 1996 Porsche, Laurence, but there's also a NASCAR build trundling around the bench too :coolio

Aha, I get it now (y)

I still haven't warmed up to NASCAR though, but you're doing a fine job with them cars mate :D

I gotta agree. I grew up on Speed Racer, so Le Mans for me. Then when I started with actual cars, watching Top Fuel in quarters because there's something amazing about building an engine that destroys itself after 6-8 seconds.

Never understood the attraction of circles, although I did like watching Formula One with Unser, Stewart, etc.
