All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

I only found 3 pictures of these tanks but all were missing the fuel drum brackets and unditching log brackets. So those spots required filling. Otherwise it is oob. The markings are just the 4 yellow markings on the turret and they are from Star decals. I do have metal tracks for it and they are going together slowly. I was intrigued by the country as I had never heard of Somaliland before. But its in the north part of Somalia. Noone in the world recognizes them but they have had autonomy since around 1998 I think? From what I was reading their economy has been doing well and they are courting the oil and gas and tourism organizations.
In counter point I will do a Somali M-47 (Ex Iranian M-47). Those took a beating from what I read and none survived.

Today I did some detail painting and dulcoated the SA-2 and T-54. Now to weather some. Didnt get to the second colour for the Snow Leopard though.

OKay! Somaliland Huh? That makes two of us! I never heard of it either!

Gotta tell you! I would definitely feel comfortable at your workbench! It's almost as cluttered as mine! :yipee
I'll never know how some of these guys turn out beautiful masterpieces and their benches look like a workbench showroom!

Hang in there James!

Bob

It usually hurts too much to go down to my workshop so I comandered a corner of the dining room table. Just 2 of us at home so dont need the whole thing for dining lol. At least I can model when I feel up to it. Unfortunately not much space to do it. But hey, its better than nothing at all I guess :)

Opposite of my Buffalo and Veltro builds, I need some armor to offset...so I started this one up in absence of any new group builds coming down the pike...

Thanks for all comments :drinks

It's a little to small for the ratte, this is normally a 15cm gun turret from the Gneisenau, it will be in a atlantic wall setting

Mike, that looks like a great project coming up. Gonna be fun to watch.

Matts, that turret could be for a Ratte.... in 1/72 scale! I'll be looking forward to seeing more of that.

Not too much to say, more of another painting experiment than a full-blown project....Oh, and there's a Tiger prowling around the bench too, but that's going to get it's own thread later.

I tell ya, this stuff taste a hell of a lot better in a real English Pub than from a bottle in the US!

I got called up to the front office at work...Brought me to London to meet with some middle and upper management this week. Having great time and productive meetings, getting things sorted out.

I got a couple of days free, Friday and Sat, really thinking about going over to the RAF Museum and Hannants. I'll post some more pictures when I get back.

Welcome to england old chap :)
Get yourself over to Duxford, you will not regret it, remember there is a large land warfare museum with tanks galore on the Airfield as well as the American air museum and the British stuff.

Best
Paddy

I was but it looks like a 4 hour commute on buses and trains. Time I get there I have to turn around and go back.

Shame you don't have anyone with a car there, it's less than an hour from central london, about 40 miles straight up the M11 motorway. still Hendon is a good place as well.Enjoy your stay :)

I'm in Watford, it's a shame I'm not brave enough to try driving. Lefthand, right hand turns would really mess with me.
