Harley is doing quite well considering. Thanks. He is suppposedto be kept kenneled to keep him from running and jumping, so, when I leave the house he goes into the small bathroom, closes the door shut and goes nappy time till I get home. :rotf

So what'sup with the no power? They stealing the power lines now? :blink

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Ooooch! We had Bernie fixed, early, just for that possibility. Some dogs have this problem and if you don't get them the doc ASAP they don't last very long. You are lucky with Harley...

SA Dave: The hamsters are all trade unionists and are working to rule... typical. We are so spoiled here in the US... if the Power guys go on strike or don't make certain the power is flowing, then they have to suffer too... we have brown outs, black outs (A HUGE one back in '03) just like everyone else... but the guys are working real quick to fix it. Have you though of getting a generator? The make some real nice one's that run on hamster wheels..

We have learned to deal with power lines theft a while back The problem here is that they have not build new power stations for 20 years so we are literally running out of power when something goes offline for maintenance or breakage occurs :vmad :vmad :vmad :vmad :vmad :vmad

Sorry to hear about that Adam! Biggest problem I had with getting a molar removed a while back was a dry socket ( which ached like  ) and then keeping food out of the hole.

For anyone getting a tooth removed make sure you do not suck on anything after tthe extraction. That means no smoking too. Sucking on anything such as a cigarette or a straw can and will often led to 'dry socket'. Just thought I'd mention that because I knew many people who got dry socket but didn't know that it was caused by sucking on something.

Good luck and cheers from Peter

Yea, that is something I'm working very hard to keep from having happen to me. I caught myself sucking up soup I was eating last night b/c I wasn't thinking about it. Other than some persistent light bleeding that doesnt seem to want to go away, I'm not doing too bad so far. I am in a bit more pain this morning than i have up to this point, but w/ what the surgeon said, that's to be expected.

Glad to hear that Harley is on the mend Paul. Never had dogs, but have had several cats, and they are part of the family, and it really hurts to see them in pain.

I was aware of the causes of a dry socket. I think in my case it was because the tooth was dead and fully calcified. No nerves no blood vessels in it. I think that was caused way back when they removed a wisdom tooth that was forming. (Jr high) Tooth actually came out real easy they were expecting it to break. Anyway was smooth bone down inside and nothing to form or hold anything. The packing was only in for about a week and tasted like cloves. Which got old after several days.

Harley is doing quite well, have a donut that he wears around his neck and I slip the cone on when he starts licking or I leave. Unlike most dogs he doesn't fight it at all, just goes"OK" and goes and lays down.

Hard part is getting him to eat as he only eats when it is a treat or he is hungry. With the meds he isn't really hungry so am having to figure out some stuff to get him to eat.

Little twitt. :smack

:mpup Pups are great... My dogs eat anytime is is made available... That means we never leave something within range in the kitchen or on a table. Kitty the pug is an alcoholic. She will slurp up any booze with in her reach... Last year she drank half of a Long island Ice tea and had to sleep in a cage... drunk off her little butt.

Last week, SWMBO left 2 beautiful steaks out to thaw... and forgot to close the kitchen gate... you know where this is going....

Getting ready for Light Up Lakewood. This is the annual celebration of turning on the holiday lights... We are handing out hot chocolate and singing Carols... Afterwards will be the construction of the tree and watching Ohio State Football.

Looking good Chuck! I got my tree at Lowe's this year; mine's potted. I hope to keep it alive to use again next year, and possibly the next. One tree I had lasted seven years. That was quite the savings on Christmas tree purchases!

Today I just finished building the set for the Brea Nativity play that will happen next weekend. This is looking good. I'll try to get b=pics of this on Tuesday or so when I go back to do refinements.

Right now, I'm bone tired and in pain. I'm gonna rest now and recover before heading out to a friend's Christmas Concert.

Will get the tree from the basement, 3M provides the hooks so no drilling necessary... Tree goes up tomorrow

We got our tree from Family Dollar where my daughter works. $5.00
Charlie Brown would be proud.

My wife got ours up this past week, took all of 10 minutes for her to get it out, put the ornaments on it, and plug it in, haha.

"DREAMING BIG"

Was cleaning up the storage room and found an old bucket of bird seed. Decided to throw it out on the field behind our house for the birds. Little did I know...

Yes it is a Siamese but not a pure breed (thank goodness). We had a pure breed for 14+ years that howled like a banshee all the time. This one is still a little high strung but much quieter. We are guessing she is a seal point by her. Coloring. We have another cat that is part Siamese and has the coloring of a Siamese but has a white chest and paws which is quite unusual. I'll see if I have a picture.

And finally yesterday we had our 3 Owls return to the tree in front of my deck. They live there all summer and migrate somewhere else in the winter. Snapped these while they were trying to sleep.
Mum, Dad and a little one.

Jeez, another lesson learned the hard way.

I was about done with the paint job on the vinyl rubber tracks from my Leopard 2 tank.
I added pigments over the paint job and it did look okay in my opinion.

Now then, most of the time I use a proper Pigment Fixer, but not this time around.
Had the idea to use a short cut, using Charcoal&Pastel fixative from a rattle can.(Conté a Paris)

Should NOT have done that, the pigments disappeared and it left a shiny coat over the tracks.
Should have known better! :bang head
