All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Well, I weighed 194.6 at the gym today- back in February I was at 212 or so. The doc gave me the choice of either losing weight and adjusting my diet or going on cholesterol and hypertension pills for the duration. I'm proud to say my chol is down dramatically, so I'm good there! Blood pressure was iffy, so I've given up salt and we'll check again in a few weeks. High BP runs all through my family, so if it's still high it ain't my danged fault! ;)

I'd offer a toast, but those are reserved for weekends from here on out! :pp
Very nice Chukw, health it's very important!
Congratulations! (y)

Dooooooode! Bummer :popcorn

I have diabetes 2 and take meds. BP Is fine... So is cholesterol... But I have had to give up tons of good stuff because of the sugar... HATE IT.

Maybe you need to move somewhere with a less hectic lifestyle... Like Cleveland! :rotf

Thanks James for the kudos. My niece and nephews really had a great time. Marcus and Eleana carried their models around everywhere; even to my sister's graduation ceremony. Eleana was especially proud of the car; she thanked me for making her "the most perfect heart she'd ever seen" for her car.

Thanks Bob, I'm not sure who that big bald guy is; he just showed up and muscled his way in... :blink :pp :D

Saul, Patrick is actually 23 now, but I agree, he can take some time before considering something more permanent. Still, it does look very promising so far. Thanks again for the compliments, it really means a lot to me.

Chuck, congrats! I am diabetic too (type 2) and have myself lost 34 pounds in the last five months. My A1C is excellent along with my cholesterol so my eating habits are working. I've been hovering at this weight for awhile; I do need to return to the gym soon....

I see you have the "almighty adjuster of all models" (also known as a hammer) laying there on the table! :good:

Must be great to be able to sit down like that and build together (y)

And it's good to see a new generation modellers :)

Sarah and I are getting ready to go visit my mother for a few days. She is taking us to a place called Cowboy Dinner Tree http://www.cowboydinnertree.net/ for dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. :geek Lets just say the food is amazing. The steaks are the size of a small child and everything is locally grown. Also if you don't like your steak to moo at you when you cut it then you are out of luck :rotf

Thanks Mats! Yeah, we didn't have to use that hammer much, fortunately. And it does feel so good being able to sit together and model like that. What a thrill! That is also why I enjoy my Friday Hobby Days every month; I get to sit and model with anywhere between 3 and 8 of my fellow IPMS club members.

Ryan, Happy Birthday! I hope it was filled with family, fun and styrene!

Other than that, still searching for a paint stir thing... and a nap is alway a good choice.... :D

I'm supposed to be helping my wife with her rose garden all day, but she keeps having friends drop by to chat...two hours wasted so far. :bang head

Walked down to the comic book/toy store in Ephrata,PA. After I was done in there,I walked around the little area reserved for the open air market the town sets aside on the third Saturday of the month. Glad I did. Had two great sausage and cheese sandwiches in a pretzel bun. There were some Amish people at that stand who made them.

Sooooooooooooooooo good. :yipee

Man, I cannot seem to catch a break! This past Friday I was supposed to power wash a deck for someone. I got stung by a bee and had to go to the hospital before the shock set in. Came home, still woozy from the sting and anti-venom to find my A/C had gone out and my house was 91 degrees inside. A/C guy can't come until Tuesday or later, so I'm spending whatever time I can out of the house. Fortunately, the temps have been dropping so it ain't too unbearable lately. The only good thing, besides Mass on Saturday, was that I made some good sales at the local Brewer Brother's models show. Now I wake up this morning and spend three hours passing a stone. Still waiting on the Doc....

Okay, I give.... what did I do? :idonno

Holy Cow Mark! Sorry about all that. We had to replace AC unit, was not happy about it and as it turns out, not much need for it so far, shoot, this weekend we turned the heat back on! Go figure, Mid May in South Carolina and we have the heat on!?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Ouch Mark!! Hate to hear that.

I'm doing absolutely nothing. Put out a couple of resumes so far this week, but for the most part just sitting here staring my computer screen. Already doing the best we can to put things in order for the next several weeks in case the job I'm trying out next week doesn't work out. I'm fairly confidant it will work out, but ya never know, so it pays to be pro-active about thins now, instead of waiting till afterward. Unfortunately I've not heard back from the probably 15 or 20 other resumes I've sent out, which is pretty disconcerting.

Gonna give it a bit more time, along w/ this 2 week try out, and if that doesn't work, going to start looking back in Gastonia where we moved from when I took the job I just lost. Also going to start looking more seriously down in upstate South Carolina.

Going into work I knew I was going to have a busy week trying to wrap up projects before taking next week off. It got busier when I couldn't log into my PC this morning. My profile was corrupted and so I had to run home, get my personal laptop which has the same software and come back, get it set up while IT wiped my desktop.
