Airfix 1/72 Sherman Mk. Vc Firefly

View attachment 178480
A long time ago, Scott Hackney advised buying a pair of reading glasses to work on small scale details. He was right. It took me a while to find just the right pair of 1.50+ readers. The Magni-visor I have is bulky and heavy, and had an LED light I never used. I kept conking it on my lamp and knocking the lens off.

Problem solved! I liked them so much, I bought a couple for the tools and accessories category on tlarmodels.com
I feel an overwhelming urge to pick up my guitar and sing "Peggy Sue" when I wear these.
I got cataract surgery on my right eye a couple of years ago and between that and taking some supplements I have stopped wearing readers for everyday reading. I plan on this for my left eye this year.

I still use a 1.5 in the shed for modeling. can't do it without it!

I don't often weather very much. Some washes and some tan, brown and yellow acrylic made "dust", and I misted it gently on finished assembling the hull. Towing hooks have been added. Dullcote coming up.

In the fullness of time, this 1/72 M2 will be installed.

I made a mold for 1/72 scale stowage, that should have been completely cured by 1100 today.
It did THIS again. I used no mold release at all on the Masters. The only cause of this I can think of may be stale Part B pink activator. :bm:
DO-OVER! :bang head
Thanks again for looking in!

hmm, it looks like you've but your master into the over together with a cake but the master could accept a little more heat to get a little more brown on top? :tomato:

She's flatted, spare track have been fitted to the front of the hull and cat-whisker radio whips are installed.
Here's a dandy way to display a Micro Model Month build!

The 1/72 scale stowage mold do-over mold is underway. Cleaning off every tiny bit of the sorta-pink RTV is never easy or fun, but all the Masters were saved. :bang head

The new mold box is a shade bigger. How shall the extra spaces be filled? :hmm:

The do-over molds are pink and perfect! First castings are ready to pop! :yipee:

The square mold is for SeaMasters and Seadart Navy jets for the "Strike From The Sea" 1/700 Cold War Submarine kit.
A two-part mold needs lots of tooling and clean-up before the bottom half of the mold is poured. It's almost there!
