Adria inex DC-6

That is some fine workmanship and very impressive also. I would have never known about that intake in the tail.

Thanks guys!
I always find that cutting away the controls adds an extra element of realism. I generally do it, but with the Beech I don't know if I will or not. The way the controls are molded onto the fixed portion of the airframe looks to make it an impossible job. Are you going to paint the controls as a separate item before attaching them?
I also think it makes it more realistic. Everyting is already glued, so I'll be paintingt it all together. Come on Jim, you can do it! Cut those control surfaces ;) I've already cut of flaps. Something I'll regret during the build, but not at the end(hopefuly).

So here is finished nose whell well. It still needs some pait.

I also began working on the wings. Don't have anything to show yet, so till next time.
Thanks for looking in!

Outstanding! (y)
I walked around a six once at an airport called Schefferville. About the only thing I remember about the airplane was those 'canisters' in the nosewheel well.

You talked me into cutting away the controls on the Beech, you sweet talking son of a gun you.
The elevators are finished and the rudders are being worked on as we speak. The ailerons were already separate parts.

Thanks everyone!

Jim, any idea what is the purpouse of those canisters?

I finaly finished main gear wells. About 50+ wires are missing, but I had enough. There is enough to make it look busy.

Thank you for loking in!

Fantastic job Uros. (y)

I seem to remember a couple of those canisters are hydraulic accumulators. They contain a preloaded charge of nitrogen to pressurize the hydraulic system in case the hydraulic pumps quit. I presume there are two pumps, one on #2 and one on #3 engine. (That's why the start sequence for most 4-engine piston aircraft was 2 - 3 - 4- 1.)
The other canisters may be emergency pneumatic reservoirs, again with a preloaded nitrogen charge to blow the gear down and operate the emergency braking system in case of loss of all hydraulic fluid.

Thanks guys!
Jim, I was guessing these had to do something with hydraulics. Now I know, thanks!
Paul, this model has recessed panel lines. No scribing on this one luckiliy, except for lost lines from sanding.

I've been working on the engines. They are from revells P-47 kit. I wrote to revell, if they could send me four sets of parts for them. They did!I love their costumer service!

Till next time. Thanks for looking!

Stunning engines Uros! Way to go! Have you started them up to see how well they run yet? They look realistic enough to run!

Thanks guys! Much apreciated!
Jim, I mixed some blue and dark grey with a bit of white added to make it look brighter. I use Tamiya colours, mostly because I can get them in my local hobby shop. Never tried Humbrol paints.

I've been making some slow progress
Engine nacelles are finished. I've cut them up and reshaped them a bit.
This is what I've started with.

Wonderful work Uros. Great job with those little exhaust stacks, I must remember that one.

Normally I don't use Humbrol paints either, I find oil based paint too big a pain, but Humbrol # 5 Grey is as close as I can find to Pratt & Whitney crankcase grey. It's not quite the same, as a matter of fact your mix looks a little more accurate, but it's available. I'm sure there's a Fed Spec number for it but I could never find it. Or if I did I've forgotten it. :eek:ldguy

May not be much help but this is what I believe to be close when new .Mr. Color C 339 Engine Gray FS 16081

It nearly looks to be purple when first applied.

Cheers, Christian B)
